ABSTRACT
A pipe clamp is a metal pipe support that fits around a pipe. Pipe clamps consist of two separate half
circles that wrap around your pipe by tightening bolts. You can bind pieces together, snag up the
pipe clamp and secure piping. Clamp a phone in all manners of household industrial and outdoor
settings they used as an efficient and tidy way to restrain, secure and guide tubing or conduct a
range of plumbing heating and electric purposes.
A pipe club is often referred to as a pipe clipper clamps which are widely used in many installation
settings.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Pipe clamps are mostly and widely used for supporting suspended pipes pipe clamp can be
defined as bolted circular or semi circular pipe attachment that connects a pipe with other
assemble components for proper support a wide variety of piping clamps available to use as pipe
support attachment
1.1Background
Pipe clamps are made in accordance with standards to grip and support mechanical of structural
parts. Pipe clamps usually consist of four components I.e clam-shell, body cover plate, hexagon
head bolt and single weld plate. There are also some variety of other accessories available for pipe
clamps e.g. stacking bolt Mountain rail, elongate weld plate and rail nuts which are used for
different installation method of the pipe clamps.
1.2Problem Statement
Manual claims are tiresome since the force users to apply more energy and twisting their wrist and
arm with high force the manual clamp usage also causes over-exertion stones and carpal tunnel
syndrome.
1.3Justification
The main aim of inventing this project is because of innovation supporting suspended pipes and
also used as pipe clamp shoes inventing this project will help to overcome problems and
challenges associated with manual clamps which have which make the work more difficult and less
fatigued to the workers. The project will answer and hands higher and more productivity in the field
of production.
1.4Materials Used
Pipe clamps are manufactured by the use of wide range of materials that enable it to be complete;
carbon steel
stainless steel
Plastics
copper
aluminum
brass
alloy Steel
1.5Objectives
Pipe clamps are mostly used in the piping and plumbing industry and they are commonly used for;
Fabricated pipe clamp
To provide first-serve economic service and installation in piping system
To fasten and fix pipes with structures provide support
Fastening application
Reduce noise and dampen vibration
CHAPTER TWO
2.1 LITERATURE REVIEW
Pipe clamps can secure your pipe in an unstable environment to reduce noise, vibration since it
keeps the pipe from moving and crashing into surrounding objects. Pipe clamps are widely found in
all manners I.e household industrial outdoor setting they are used as an efficient and steady way to
restrain, secure and guide tubing or conduct for a range of plumbing heating and electrical purposes.
2.2 Design and Type of Material
Pipe clamps are relatively simple and widely used in many installation settings. There are various
types of channel support systems most commonly found in plumbing, heating, drainage and
electrical work. Pipe clamps are sometimes incorporating a spring clip of based system that when
chosen correctly fit snugly around the conductor cable or tubing when you're installing. The clip
then screw or bolt directly to which every wall on service when running the pipe along. The tubing
is thus hell securing place and supported over the full length of its run ensuring reliable and fused
free mounting solution.
2.3 Other Clamps
Spring Clamps
Spring clamps are handheld clamp that are functional via attention spring. These clients are strong
in net and secure present position to place also tightly and do not separate the object; the sprinklers
are available in a variety of size and shape so that one can choose according to the requirements.
Advantages
1. The work is great for clamping blocks on fences fast and easy clamping.
2. They are used to apply clapping pressure quickly and easily similar in design to a clip.
Disadvantages
1. The clamping pressure depends on the work pieces
2. It is more time consuming and tiresome.
Three-bolt pipe clamp
Three bolt pipe clamps are used for suspending insulated line carrying high temperature fluids the
length of the clamp on top of the pipe is increased to accommodate the deadbolt which allows
attachment of the pipe clamp outside installation.
Advantages
They have large clamping Force
They are used for horizontal insulated piping
Disadvantages
They carry a risk of deforming the workpiece
They are prone to identify the workpiece due to the high force on the small workpiece.
Two-bolt pipe clamp
Are used for hanging by a pipe without any insulation
Their load carrying is usually not large.
Advantages
They are easy to install
They have nice appearance
They are simple to operate
Disadvantages
They have hard surface of unprotected hunger can scrap against pipe metal

CHAPTER THREE
3.1METHODOLOGY
Diagram
The diagram of the pipe clamp are made of high-quality tools still there are also softer Joe's
designed to be measured according to the shape of the workpiece.
Tabulation
this is where tables are drawn to show all the stages are materials used to fabricate pipe clamp
Formulation
The formula used provides the best knowledge of the best method to be used measurements and the
procedure of making the pipe clamp.
Data Analysis
The data collected from the workshop and I've said the work should help to know the importance
and the benefits of coming up with a pipe clamp
Purpose of Data
After several data collections of analyses the data shows the benefits and importance of improving
access to give optimum work production in and out of the work workshop.
3.2 Research Design
After conducting various data analysis research was carried out using several types EG observation
and internet and research from books from the research many workshops and industrial design
calibrate and fabricate
3.3 Practical Experience
When doing this project I get experience and skills that that's giving me a go ahead of coming up
and inventing more projects in the field of mechanical
3.4 Data Collection Instruments and Procedures
The project was done by a total of 3 people. The other engineers were measuring the tools used.
information in this product was obtained from the following sources
Internet
Help me to get more information about the pipe clamp its historical inventory and the materials
used in making the pipe clamp
Observation
From the observation after having several visits to the industrial companies and some action outside
the institution I came to know the benefits of the clan how to modify and improve its working
purpose
Research on Books
From the books I came to know the different types of clamps, uses, advantages and disadvantages
CHAPTER FOUR
4.1 DATA ANALYSIS
After discovering a publication of pipe clamp the presentation was made as follows
4.2 Observation
Observation was made during and after the design attachment it was observed that a pipe clamp will
help beginners in welding planning and mechanical field to purchase it cheaply and help the
minimize errors and save time.
4.3 Interviews
During research designer visited various workshop Industries and companies in Nairobi area and
discovered the problem in the field
4.4 Findings
After the research the designer found that there is need of pipe clamp which can support and bend
around a pipe which can be found in all manners of household industrial and outdoor settings
4.5 Conclusion
After resigning a paperclip it was concluded that the problem has been solved simply because it can
support a pipe area when fixing the curtain. Its bulky materials can also be banded since its base can
withstand high width due to its strong ability.
4.6 Recommendation
Based on the findings and conclusions presented the following recommendation of suggested an
approval because of pipeline has been proven functional and okay to be used in workshops and
Industry to make work easier it is cheap to buy and friendly to use.
