Portfolio Entry:

A. How do I use my personal qualities to become a good teacher?

To become an effective teacher, I will leverage my strengths and

continuously develop them to confidently educate students. I will also identify
and eliminate any personal attitudes or behaviors that could hinder my
teaching or distract learners, as these can lead to inefficient lessons. I plan to
observe and adopt positive characteristics from other educators to enhance
my teaching profession and personal growth.

I will use my personal qualities to encourage learners to embrace the

positive aspects of being a teacher, including the desirable characteristics and
positive outcomes associated with the profession. A teacher's personality
should be pleasant, lively, and engaging. It is not just desirable but essential
for a teacher to possess genuine empathy, understanding the minds and
feelings of their students.

B. How does the experienced teacher, utilize his/her personal qualities to
make him/her a good teacher?

She used her personal qualities as an asset in teaching. She taught

with her true attitude, without hiding it from her students. Despite her strict
and "terror-like" demeanor, students became behaved and attentive in class.
Their attitudes and behaviors changed significantly because of her strict and
firm approach.

Additionally, a teacher must be quick to adapt to any situation to

understand learner behavior and performance. They must be capable of
infinite patience, which is often encountered when students engage in
collaborative learning discussions – requiring self-discipline. I believe a
teacher should possess a mind that always desires continuous learning.

Photo-essay and Reflections.
As a person, I possess various qualities—both positive and negative.
Throughout this teaching program, I've often assessed whether I am truly
qualified for this career. Do I possess the necessary qualities and potential for the
world of teaching? Do I genuinely have a passion for this profession? Do I truly
love teaching and children?
As I embarked on this journey, I initially thought that teaching was a very
simple task. However, I quickly realized that's far from the truth. Every aspect of
the teaching and learning process demands time, effort, heart, and mind to
ensure effective instruction and achieve excellent outcomes.
Reflecting on the qualities I possess that are essential for teaching, I
identify myself as kind, patient, creative, calm, friendly, goal-oriented, honest,
sincere, helpful, and optimistic. On the other hand, there are times when I can be
strict, sensitive, and lack confidence in myself and my work. These innate
qualities are my stepping stones toward the teaching profession, and they can be
nurtured for my betterment as a future educator.
Now, as a third-year BSED student, I am not only nurturing these qualities
but also continuously acquiring new knowledge and experiences. This journey is
not just improving me as a person, but profoundly molding me into the effective
educator I aspire to be. I am truly glad I chose this career. Being a contributor to
young minds' dreams and achievements offers an unexplainable feeling to every
teacher, a role I deeply aspire to fulfill.
A teacher portrays many vital roles: to the mind of flint, the teacher must
be iron, striking sparks; to the empty pitcher, the teacher becomes a well; to the
fallow mind, a planter of seeds; to the cluttered mind, a gardener to weed, shape,
and create space for growth; to the lens, the teacher is light, and to the mind of
light, a lens; to the sleeper, the teacher is a wake-up call of birds at sunrise; to
clay, the teacher is a potter, a sculptor, and a trainer in self-shaping; to the
developed mind, the teacher is a colleague, a listener, and a friend. To be a
teacher is the noblest profession, and I am genuinely looking forward to
becoming one in the future.
2. Photo Essay of the Experienced Teacher Personal Attributes or
Characteristics and Reflections.

For me, she is the quintessential teacher, possessing a profound

understanding of what a learner needs to know. You're captivated not just by her
words, but by the powerful impact she makes and her skillful delivery. She favors
storytelling over mere narration, and showing over simply explaining.
She teaches students the art of giving constructive criticism and gracefully
accepting both praise and critique. She instills the belief that while goals are vital,
the enlightenment gained on the journey is far more valuable. Her lessons extend
beyond the beauty of logic and numbers, embracing the elegance of words, art,
and music—the rich rewards available when one cultivates intuition and a keen
sense of right and wrong. She demonstrates how to win and lose with grace, and
how to apologize genuinely.
Her ability to engage students in a manner that is both strict and yet sweet
and heartwarming is remarkable. She consistently motivates and pushes
students to excel in their learning and tasks. She views every child not as an
empty vessel to be filled, but as a candle waiting to be lit. This unique teaching
style is a wonderful trait that makes her respected and cherished by all.
I admire her greatly and have learned so much from her. I am truly
inspired to emulate her teaching style, her way of handling situations, and her
love for her pupils someday. I salute you, Ma'am, for being such a molder of
young minds and future professionals. You are a true artist in shaping human
intellect and spirit! I am so glad to have met a teacher like you.
