Lesson 01: Presentation

What I Hate Doing

Good morning/ afternoon/ evening. My name is _______, I am a

student of batch _____. and I’m here today to talk to you about What
I Hate Doing.

As human being, we all have four main feeling as happiness, anger,

likes and dislikes. Of course, we wanna do what we like; however
sometimes, we must do things that we don’t like. Take me for
example. (Wanna = want to)

I hate getting up early very much. It’s so relaxing to wake up without

the help of an alarm clock and to lie fifteen minutes more recalling
your dreams. However, I hafta get up at 6 o’clock every morning.
Then I put on my T-shirt and shorts and go jogging. Sometimes I
wanna break my alarm clock, I can’t because I hafta go to my work
on time. (hafta = have to)

Moreover, I hate shopping. It’s my opinion that shopping takes too

much time which I can spend doing other things I like. But every
week, I hafta do some shopping at a certain supermarket. Otherwise,
my refrigerator will be empty and I cannot afford to have lunch and
dinner at the restaurant every day.

Lesson 02: Questions for Discussion

1. What time do you usually get up? Do you take any exercise
after getting up? What form of exercise, if any, do you take?

I usually get up around 8 AM on weekdays. To be honest, I don’t

have much time for exercise during the week, but I try to go for a
run or do some yoga on weekends.
2. Do you usually have breakfast at home or at work or on the
way to work? Do you often have coffee?
I always have breakfast at home. It’s usually something simple like
cake or toast. And yes, I’m addicted to coffee!

3. What do you have for lunch? Do you bring your lunch to work
or have lunch outside work or go home for it?

I usually have lunch at the university cafeteria. If I have a busy

day, I might bring a packed lunch from home. I like to keep it light,
like a sandwich or a salad.
4. What time do you leave your work? Do you have to work
overtime? In night shifts? Do you like your job?

I don’t work full-time since I’m a student, but I do have a part-time

job at a cafe. I usually finish my shift around 6:00 PM. I rarely
have to work overtime, but sometimes I help out if they’re short-
staffed. I enjoy my job; it’s a nice break from studying and helps
me earn some extra money.

5. What time do you arrive home from work? When do you

usually have dinner? Do you stay home and watch TV, read
books or magazines, do needlework, listen to music, or have a
talk with your partner?

I usually get home around 7:00 PM, depending on my schedule. I

have dinner around 8:00 PM. After dinner, I like to relax by
watching TV or listening to music. Sometimes I catch up on
reading or have a video call with friends or family.

6. How often do you go out after dinner? Do you go to evening

classes? What courses of study are you taking? What plans do
you have for such courses?

I don’t often go out after dinner, unless there’s a special event or if

I need to study with friends. I’m currently studying Business
Administration. My plan is to specialize in marketing and work for
a big company, or perhaps start my own business one day.

7. How do you spend your time on Sundays? What do you do in

your free time? What do you do at weekends?
Friday are usually my chill days. I try to finish any pending
assignments and then spend the rest of the day relaxing, either
watching movies or going for a walk. On weekends, I like to meet
up with friends, go out for a meal, or sometimes just stay in and
rest.
8. Do you think that your daily life is OK, compared with others
in your family? Do you think your daily routine is boring?
Have you ever thought of doing something else for a change?

I think my daily life is pretty balanced, though sometimes it can

feel a bit monotonous. I’ve thought about joining more
extracurricular activities to add some variety to my routine, like
learning a new language or a sport.

9. Are you still going to university? What time does your

university begin? What do you often do before university?
How do you prepare your lessons before university? How do
you go to university? How long does it take you to get there?
When does your university finish? Do you go straight home
after university?

Yes, I’m still attending university. My classes usually start at 9:00

AM, so I try to review my notes or do a bit of reading before
heading out. I take the bus to university, which takes about 30
minutes. My classes usually finish around 4:00 PM, and I
sometimes stay back to study or work on group projects.
Otherwise, I head straight home after my classes are done.

10. Are you pleased with a day in your life?

Overall, I’m quite pleased with how my days go. It’s a good mix of
study, work, and personal time. Of course, there are stressful days,
but I try to maintain a positive outlook and keep my goals in mind.
