(GUCDOE) AT A GLANCE :
Established in May 1998 as the Post Graduate Correspondence
School (PGCS), GUCDOE is the Open and Distance Education wing of
Gauhati University, committed to the motto “Quality Higher Education
for All.” It was later renamed as GUIDOL in 2008 and as GUCDOE in
2023 following UGC-DEB ODL Regulations.
Over 25 years, the Centre has grown from 514 learners and 6 courses
to a vibrant academic hub offering diverse programmes and modern
learner support services, including SLMs, counselling, a digital library,
ICT-enabled classrooms, computer labs, community radio, and a Wi-
Fi-enabled campus. GUCDOE continues to ensure inclusive, flexible,
and quality higher education for all.

Payment Structure: ₹14,500 per semester × 4

Note: Examination fee is not included. Learners
are required to pay ₹1,000 as an examination
fee before each semester-end examination.
Self-Learning Materials (SLM)
Printed Self-Learning Materials (SLMs) can be collected from
your designated Study Centre / Learner Support Centre after
confirmation of admission. Learners can also download digital
copies from the official website.

Personal Counselling Programme (PCP)
A Personal Counselling Programme is conducted for 10–15 days
each semester, and 75% attendance is mandatory.
The detailed schedule will be published on the official website
and communicated through email, phone, or WhatsApp.
Online Counselling Classes
Online counselling classes will be conducted via
Google Classroom, allowing learners to engage
with course instructors and peers in a digital
learning environment.
EXAMINATION &
EVALUATION
Regulations: As per the examination and evaluation rules
of Gauhati University (GU)
Programme Duration: Learners must complete the
programme within 4 years for 2-year courses
Assessment Structure:
Internal Assessment: 20%
Term-End Examination: 80%
Admit Card:
Can be downloaded online (for GU Centre)
Or collected from the respective Examination Centre
Re-Examination Fee (Back/Betterment): ₹1,000 per paper
