Surah Luqman Tafseer analysis with Hiqmah points noted, and similar
verses based on Hiqmah in Quran
Verse 1-2: "Huruf al-Muqattaāt" were not part of known Arabic literary or poetic
tradition before the Qur’an. Their usage is unique, divine, and unmatched, designed to
distinguish the Qur’an’s speech from all others and challenge the people to reflect on its
miraculous nature. These Disjointed Letters (Alif-Lām-Mīm) as a symbol of divine
challenge, introducing the Quran’s role in illuminating guidance amid spiritual darkness. It
proves divine revelations from Allah, No Kitab is like Quran- "Khilaf E Adat"- Miracle Book.
1) Quranic Words are "Fasih" and "Baligh", means linguistically very rich, and divine words
came to someone, Muhammad (s) who was illiterate (can't read or write). 2) These divine
guidelines, Hiqmah, you won't find in any other book. 3) Tightly verses are connected to
each other based on contexts, truths, and guidance. Plus rich word choices, and none can
make it.
Also this Kitab is from "Haqim" with all hiqmah about universe, Dunya, laws, Jahannam,
Jananh, Hereafter. It is "Mahqam"-Firm, nobody can change it (like what they did with
Bible). In Khidr (a)'s story, while he was repairing wall, he refused to accept food offered by
people, the word is used "Faabaow-rejected", you can't replace it with "Faataw"- then
meaning changes. "Tilka ayatul Kitab"- That book (indicating far) probably fully didn't
reveal yet coming from "Lawhe Mahfuz" little by little, which none should have doubt
because came from "Haqim-all knower".
Verse 3-4: This book came for "Good-doers, Muhsinins"-who are kind, do good deeds,
who worships Allah (One God) sincerely, intellectually high, whose heart is alive, who have
courage to accept truth fast, who does critical thinking, who are humble/soft people, highly
obedient, treat people with justice and generosity, have patience and gratitude. These
Muhsinin people when revelations come to them, they right away recognize the truths, and
begin practicing the commands of Allah. They immediately start fulfilling its practical
requirements—they become regular offerors of prayers (salat), which is symbolic of
fulfilling God’s will. They give prescribed alms (zakat), which amounts to honouring the
rights of God’s subjects in the economic sphere. They understand individual and communal
balance: ṣalāh (spiritual discipline) + zakāh (social responsibility) reflect true piety. They
realize fulfilling Allah's order which is being selfless, and taking care of society, and taking
care of poor and needy people, and bringing balance in society by establishing Allah's
system "Deen"; is the ultimate success that will be decided in Hereafter, and this is why
they refuse all individual selfish luxuries which don't have any value there. They
understand the true definition of success or failure shall finally be decided is nowhere
other than the Hereafter.
Verse 5-6: Those who do this (Muhsinin to Muttakin) are winner of divine guidance. On
the other side Mushriques (Idolaters), their ears/hearts as internally dead, resistant to
Qur’ānic light due to recalcitrance (arrogance/don't want to obey Islamic Laws). Ex-Al

Nadr Ibn Harith was from Quraish tribe who used his knowledge and wealth to divert
people from Quran by using storytelling and mockery. He travelled extensively to Rome
and Persia where he studied fables, royal epics, and tales from the Sāsānian Empire (like
Rustam and Isfandiyar). When Prophet Muhammad ﷺwould recite the Qur’an, al-Nadr
would gather people and say: “Come! I will tell you stories more entertaining than his.” He
used to make "Lahw al-Ḥadīth"- stupid weird things without Ilm, that people used to listen
and buy, and would make them "Gumrah"/in path of "Batil". 'Lahw al-hadith' means
playing music and things similar to it make one heedless to the worship of Allah."Leyujjila"-
they forward you towards Gumrah and "Wayittakhiju"-they make fun of Allah's words.
These people will have severe humiliating punishments coming up in the hereafter.
In our time, an alarming number of young people get introduced to shameless fiction,
stories and novels based on plots featuring people who fancy and flirt with crimes, and
poetry composed of indecent and shameless couplets. All these things are included under
this kind of distracting amusement which is forbidden "lahw". Some Sahabah have
explained the expression: ( َلْهَو اْلَحِديِثlahw al-hadith: the distracting amusement of things)
in the cited verse as singing and playing of musical instruments. Then, there are others who
have explained it in the general sense and consider every such playful activity that makes
one heedless towards Allah to be the meaning of: ( َلْهَو اْلَحِديِثlahw al-hadith). But, even in
their view, singing and playing of instrumental music are included therein. (For detail
which games are permissible and which activities are not, Study this verse 6 in Mariful
Quran in Quran.com)
It has been reported from Sayyidna Abu Hurairah ؓ that the Holy Prophet ﷺsaid:
When spoils are taken as personal property and trust property as spoils and Zakah as
penalty, and religious learning is acquired for worldly objectives, and when man starts
obeying his wife and disobeying his mother, and keeps his friend near and his father far,
and when voices rise in mosques and the chief of a tribe becomes its worst sinner and
when the chief of a people becomes their lowest of the low and when wicked people are
respected out of fear for them, and when singing girls and musical instruments appear all
over and when wines of all sorts are consumed and when the later of this Ummah start
cursing the former - then, at that time, you wait for a red storm, and earthquake, and the
sinking of the earth, and the metamorphosis of figures and faces, and missiles, and the signs
of Doomsday following each other, one after the other, like a broken necklace with its
beads scattered simultaneously.
Verse 7-9: So all Mushriques who were arrogant/stubborn (had Kibr) in hearing and
obeying Allah's words, look like they are deaf (but they are not) will have huge punishment.
The word “bashshir” (give good news) is used ironically here — mocking the arrogance of
the disbeliever by saying that what awaits them is a painful punishment. On the other side
for believers they will enter into the Gardens of Bliss, also emphasizes eternal comfort, joy,
and spiritual pleasure (na‘īm). It’s one of the highest forms of reward described in the
Qur’an, and It's granted by Allah's promise, who is "Azizul Haqim".

;)ْلَع يRoot: ʿ-Z-Z (ز-ز-)ع, Common translation: The Almighty, The All-Powerful,
Al-‘Azīz ( ِزُز
The Invincible, The Honorable. Core meanings: Power, might, dominance, unassailable
strength, dignity.
Al-Ḥakīm ( ;)ٱ ْل َح ِكي ُمRoot: Ḥ-K-M (م-ك-)ح, Common translation: The Wise, The All-Wise, The
Perfect in Judgment; Core meanings: Wisdom, perfect knowledge, just governance, placing
things where they belong.
Why are ‘Azīz and Ḥakīm often paired in the Qur’an?
Because they balance each other:‘Azīz (Power) without Ḥikmah (Wisdom) could be
oppressive. Ḥakīm (Wisdom) without ‘Izzah (Power) might seem ineffective. Together,
they describe a Being who has both absolute power and perfect wisdom — meaning: Allah
is never unjust in His might, and never helpless in His wisdom. So when you see these
names paired (like in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:129, Surah At-Tawbah 9:40, etc.), it's a reminder
that: Allah has the power to do whatever He wills. But He always does it with perfect
justice, mercy, and wisdom.
Verse 10-11: Allah showed his signs here in verse 10 (Yatlu Alaihim Ayatihi) so think
about these signs, try to feel from heart and find the truth. How skies/heavens/celestial
bodies are there without pillars (that we don't see) – the laws of gravity and balance
(invisible forces), and how mountains are there to stabilize the land of earth. Who created
these all? How he created these? Can we create these? Is there any power who can create
like these? Then why people are not bringing Imaan on "One True God-Allah"? This verse
is an invitation to the soul, not just the intellect. "Sky opens, rain descends, life blooms" —
all of it is artistic and moral guidance towards truth. All are a balanced system—water,
growth, and nutrition reflect planning, not randomness, but "Divine Design of one True
God". Dabbah- Every movement of life is a sign of divine will. “Zawj kareem” indicates
noble variety, beauty, and purpose in Allah’s creation. These all are divine signs of being
Allah behind as a designer.
Now the Fake Gods of Mushriques can create all the above visible forces? No. Verse 11 is
open challenge to the idolaters. What have your gods created? Nothing. This verse is a
rational argument for Tawheed. Not placing Allah on one True God's position is "Zulm"
which is "Shirk" and "Shirk is a great injustice". So Mushrikuns (who deny "ayahs-signs"
for moral awakening) are clearly misguided, and will have painful punishment in the
hereafter.
Hiqmah 1: “Be grateful to Allah” all the time (V12)
Verse 12 talks about background of who Luqman (a) is. This man came before Muhammad
(s), probably in Daud (a)’s time, was not a Prophet, but a very wise man whom Allah gave
wisdom (Hiqmah- to prevent oneself from wrong). Hiqmah comes from “Huqumat”-
laws to follow. To reach truth, Ilm, and intellects are needed which is called “Hiqmah”.
Allah choose himself who he wants to make prophets, and who he wants to give wisdom.
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
Wisdom (Hiqmah) means two things, 1) Beneficial knowledge 2) You consistently act upon
it. Whoever Allah gives Wisdom, receives “Huge good of abundance”. First Hiqmah he had
‘Be grateful to Allah”. This man had the mindset how to be thankful even in the worst
situation life with depression, anxiety, stress, fear, and so on. He used to find reasons which
he was thankful for at that moment, when parallelly many things were going wrong. “Find
the positivity in negativities”. You consistently push yourself to activate the thought
process/intellectualism so you find positivity in negativity to be thankful to Allah from
bottom of your heart. Don’t just say it, rather feel it from heart. It won’t come naturally,
rather you have to activate you thought process to work on it. That’s called “Widom-
Hiqmah”. Allah doesn’t need thankfulness from us, rather he is above everything. I need to
be thankful for my own benefits, so I don’t succumb into negative thoughts, get depressed,
and give up on life. This Hiqmah if for my own benefits.”Kafara” means, who denies are
ungrateful and disbelievers, because you are denying the fundamental concept of Allah’s
existence, and the way he placed things around your life (your family members, your job,
your neighborhood, your friends, your materialistic things, everything). So among all these
things you must have some things to be grateful for from your inner heart, that’s called
“Hiqmah”. People betrays you, you learn from it for future. People give you tough time, you
learn to be patient from it, your boss gives you tough time in work, but you become
proficient because of pressure. So activate your mind to think positive sides of it. And
whoever won’t do this, Allah says he “GanIyul Hamid”, means Allah doesn’t need their
thankfulness at all. Allah is not diminished/ harmed by this attitude, you have your options,
either you become “Believer- having gratitude” or you “disbelieve- not having gratitude”.
It’s people’s choice. It doesn’t reduce “Allah’s Kingdom”. If nobody is alive even still, he will
be praiseworthy. You can be “Mahmud” when someone exists, means “You are praised by
someone”, but “Hamid” means “praiseworthy when nothing exists”. This is the wisdom
that Luqman(a) understood because he realized if he doesn’t thank Allah he is going to hurt
himself only. Always find reasons to thank Allah (Swt), grow this attitude, so Allah can give
us more and more. Allah doesn’t want us to drown into negativities. May his words always
heal us, and make us to contemplate on his words, be thankful, and submit to him with
whole heart every time with positivity.
Hiqmah is a precious gift from Allah. Someone has Hiqmah will have Hidayat, but not
necessarily someone who has Hidayat will have Hiqmah always. Billionaires in the world
right now have intelligence, but don’t have Hiqmah otherwise they would have recognized
One True God. Hiqmah again means 1) Wisdom 2) Sound judgment 3) The ability to put
things in their proper place.

Hiqmah 2: “The wise father” (V13)
(V13-15)- Let’s hear this story first, then we will move on with the rest of the learning.
Luqman(a) is saying to his son “Never ever associate anything with Allah for worshipping”.
A father is going to speak to his child about this. He is looking for a right time to do it. Most
of the time parents have no conversations with their kids, it’s mostly about “How’s your
day? what did you do today? DId you do your homework? - all these administrative types of
conversations. Luqman (a) is looking for right time, right mood of his son, right place, right
facial expressions, to speak to his son about this important advice. When parents spend
time for individual precious conversations with their kids, those are actually personality
building times for them. Specially when parents go out for fishing, picnic, beach holidays,
camping, and there they spend time for powerful conversations. Those are imprinted
memories for them. Luman (a) started with “My beloved child, come to me, “my baby-Ya
Bunaiyyah”, let’s talk about something”. He showed his love first, soft voice, right to start
the conversations. He will do a serious conversation soon but before that he was creating
the moments where his son feels loved and safe, “emotional safety”. Then he said “my
beloved son, never associate anything with Allah”. You might not be doing idol
worshipping but you might worship your desires, your materialistic demands,
entertainments, luxuries, food, games, money, house/car, and other uncontrollable desires.
Those are Shirk as well, which take place close to your heart shelves than Allah. Don’t bring
Allah at the end. He should be your one and only desire to come on this earth, and fulfill the
purpose. You are not here for look, for money, for playing games, for adulteries, for
materialistic glamor world to pursue, but you are here to execute Allah’s orders according
to Quran, being a “Khalifatul Ard” where you aim for justice, provide a balanced justice
based society, establish a fair society for all humanities, bring people in the path of
Allah/make one Ummah together so we can establish Allah’s syetm/Deen on earth by
applications of 5 pillars in Islam at the system level so everybody can practice Islam
peacefully without any fear. That’s your job, and you are here for this only. You are here to
establish “Amar Bil Maruf Wan Nahi Anil Munkar”- for everyone on earth, but not to stay
in delusions. You have to be self-less for others, but not selfish that you only contribute to
yourself and your family. You begin executing all these goodness from your own family,
gradually towards community, and ultimately as a nation, and that’s why you are here for.
So, know your real priorities. Shirk is a terrible misplacement. You put something in a
place where it’s not supposed to be, and that’s called “Zulm-Opression”. Not putting Allah
first in your life is a severe “Zulm/oppression/shirk”.
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
There is a priority place in your heart where Alalh should reside. When you don’t place
Allah there, everything else actually you misplace with wrong reasons, like your
relationships, you job, your judgements, everything. Allah is light of your heart, and
when your light is missing, you stumble on things which are wrongly placed fully in
the dark. This man (Luqman(ra)) could give hundreds of advices to his son, like don’t
overplay games, choose the right friend, try to read more books to earn wisdom, learn
saving than spending, etc etc, right? But rather advising all these, he just gave him one
single advice that” Don’t associate anything with Allah”, and this once advice should
cover all the other hundreds of advices. When kids realize that his purpose to come on
earth is pleasing Allah’s mission, for every single action s/he is going to think if this act
satisfies Allah, or not, and as parents your rest of the job will be anyway done. May Allah
provide us patience, and wisdom to find right time, and way to speak to our kids in this
way, so they can be “Sadka Jariyah” for us, and they raise future true soldiers of Allah with
the right guidance for upcoming generations inshaallah.

Surah An-Nisa (4:116):
"Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than
that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far

These verses highlight that shirk is a grave sin that, if not repented for, is unforgivable.
2. Consequences of Shirk: Hellfire and Denial of Paradise
Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:72):
"They have certainly disbelieved who say, 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary' while
the Messiah has said, 'O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.'
Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and
his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
Surah Luqman (31:13):
"And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing
him, 'O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with Him]
is great injustice.'"
These verses convey that those who commit shirk are denied Paradise and destined for
Hellfire.

3. Condemnation of Worshipping Others Besides Allah
Surah Al-Hajj (22:71-72):
"And they worship besides Allah that for which He has not sent down authority and
that of which they have no knowledge. And the wrongdoers will have no helper. And
when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of
those who disbelieve disapproval. They are almost on the verge of assaulting those
who recite to them Our verses. Say, 'Then shall I inform you of what is worse than
that? [It is] the Fire which Allah has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is
the destination.'"
This passage illustrates the futility and danger of worshipping entities other than Allah.
4. Shirk in Worship and Obedience
Surah At-Tawbah (9:31):
"They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah, and [also] the
Messiah, son of Mary. Yet they were not commanded except to worship one God. There
is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him."
This verse warns against elevating religious leaders to a status that rivals or surpasses that
of Allah, which is a form of shirk.
5. Shirk in Actions and Intentions
Surah An-Nisa (4:38):
"And [also] those who spend of their wealth to be seen by the people and believe not in
Allah nor in the Last Day. And he to whom Satan is a companion – then evil is he as a
companion."
This verse highlights that performing acts of worship for show, rather than sincerely for
Allah, is a form of shirk.
6. Affirmation of Tawḥīd (Oneness of Allah)
Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4):
"Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born,
nor is there to Him any equivalent.'
This chapter succinctly affirms the concept of tawḥīd, emphasizing Allah's uniqueness and
singularity.

Hiqmah 3: “About our Parents” (v14)
In last verse, Luman (ra) advised his son not to do shirk/ associate anything with Allah,
now Allah is saying to us “Be good to your parents”. Allah is speaking to us directly, two
words are used in Quran for advice, “Mawzia”, or “Tawsia” (very important advice). Before
someone dies, they do Wasia, means gave very important advice, something stays in heart
for ever. Allah is saying, we gave human beings very big counseling from beginning is the
“rights of mother and father”- give your parents their rights. Parents stood for Allah, and
now Allah is making sure their rights are given. “Insaan,” here is meant for forgetfulness,
advice that is easily forgotten, it’s need to be repeated again and again. People know this
advice by mind, but forget by heart. Everyone knows to be patients, good to your parents,
but can you remember these all the time? No. So you need reminders. “Walidayn”- means
biological parents- not necessarily they will be good always, they can be wrong, treated you
badly, taught you badly, Quran shows us those stories, then what you are going to do with
them? If you think you will do good to them when they were good to you, you are wrong,
because Allah’s advice is universal. Allah is not saying you need to be good with Monster
parents, but all Allah is saying ‘you have rights to defend yourself” but when they become
old with sickness, and say sorry to you, you don’t forget about all these bad memories, but
still Allah is saying ‘Try to do best you possibly can”. Sometimes best you can do with bad
parents are doing something for them from a distance. Ibrahim (a) couldn’t go back to his
house because of his parents.
Sometimes parents do everything, but kids remember few bad things that they did to them,
and justify their mistreatments towards them, but remember Allah knows everything. You
can’t hide anything from Allah. Allah knows what possibly you could have done, and what
you didn’t, this is simply Satan’s trick. Allah is reminding us about honoring mother
because what he wanted to teach us maybe we don’t know by ourselves!! What is that?
First one year of pregnancy, and next two years of breastfeeding time that we don’t
remember. Mother does all these things unconditionally, and face hardships after
hardships in all three trimesters gradually (nausea, heaviness, mood swing, pack pain,
frequent washroom visit, high blood pressure, delivery pain, post delivery body pains,
breastfeeding struggles, sleep deprived nights for 3 months, constant checking on baby,
frequent feeding while getting hurt), and get constant mental anxiety about baby. Do we
remember all these? “No”. All these hardships mother consumes by herself, and never
complains, but Allah records it, and that’s why he is reminding us to respect our
mothers, and fathers both. Father does everything for us, give us financial support,
everything we need for our life like tuition, school’s support, necessary items of lives, and
all. When they take us for vacation we love it, but when he comes to counsel, or give advice
(like lower your voice, be respectful to your parents, recite Quran everyday), we don’t like
that part of him! But best gift from a father is “Best Advice/counsel”, not financial support.
So, we should respect our fathers for their life learned precious advices. Here Luqman(ra)

already proved himself to show gratitude in his life to Allah, and then after performing he is
advised to his son not to do Shirk with Allah, which is so powerful. That’s the best
example, and advice a father can give and show practically to his son, but mother is already
done in the beginning, she already gave her best what she could have provided when she
carried you. That’s why Allah is saying honor your parents. Do you remember when Allah
created you? No. But you know you came out from your mom’s belly. If you can’t show
gratitude for what you have seen (what parents did) how can you show gratitude to
invisible things (towards Allah, your invisible blessings). That’s why Allah said I gave
you your mother and father, so you can learn showing gratitude to them, and develop
showing gratitude to me. Allah said “Grateful to me and your parents”. We can’t be
grateful to Allah, if we are not grateful to our parents (Even when they scolded us it was for
our own benefits, we can’t be rude to them ever). And Allah said to do this, because to him
will be our final return.

"We have enjoined upon man to be kind to his parents. His mother carried him with
hardship and gave birth to him with hardship..."
(Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:15)
🔹 Repeats the theme of hardship borne by the mother, and reinforces kindness as a
divine command
Hiqmah 4: “Defying the family” (v15)
Allah is is saying in last verse “Respect to you parents, it’s divine command, because
remember you will return to me”. By reminding we shall return to him Allah is talking very
seriously about certain commands that need to be followed. In this Ayah, Allah is saying
“well respect your parents, but remember family can be manipulative sometimes,
and make you follow Shirk) by doing religious blackmail that Allah said to be good to
your parents.” In this case be very careful. Even kids can be manipulative as well because
they might do very little to parents and say I did my best, which in reality is not. So Allah is
saying both to be fair in their own situations. These verses 14 and 15 Allah is talking to us
directly. Sometimes homes are battlefield because parents want kids to follow Shirk,
otherwise they begin doing emotional blackmail. Ex- Indian Muslims were neighbor to
Hindus for long time now, and same like Indonesian Muslims neighbor to Buddhist for long
time, so sometimes with friendship and part of culture Shirky stuffs come to Muslim
families as well, and they call it “Cultural celebrations”. If you are true Muslim you have to
say “no” when situation comes to disobey Allah. Most of the time converters face very
tough time from their parents to follow Shirk (which you don’t have knowledge about)
by still following their religious rituals like Christmas, Easter, drinking and parties,
spending too much on wedding, and all. In all these cases, true believer will handle it
patiently, be good to their parents, but when comes disobedience of Allah say “no” politely
to them, don’t be part of it, but still love them. “Wa-in-jahadaka” or “ala- antushrika”
(parents do battle in against of kids to do shirk)-they say now you are better than all of us
right? Pakistani weddings are very close to Hindu Wedding now a day by disobeying Allah
to very bad extent. Mother cries like anything to convince son in all possible ways to do
shirk when he is following Islam. Shirk means put something equal to Allah. When family
says to put culture, and social rituals on top of Allah’s command then aren’t you doing
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
Shirk? You can’t say “I will follow Allah for 5 days, and in weekend 2 days I will follow my
family’s command”-that’s how it doesn’t work. If you want hereafter you need to obey Allah
fully. They will do Jihad in against of you. When relatives/friends come to tell you to
disobey Allah/Doing Shirk you have to take “tough stand”, but when it come to parents,
you hold your position (say “no”) still with politeness, and kindness, but not angrily, or
with boldness, or aggressiveness. Allah says “Don’t obey them, but still give them
accompanies (swahibhuma) they way it is dignified”. You can’t say “I am in parth of
Haq, and you guyz are doing shirk”-no.
Family will try to attack you from every side, try to humiliate you, try to make you bend,
but you need to be very strong mentally because end of the day “You will return to Allah.”
On the judgement day, there will be a section where everyone is going to witness what they
said to other party from heart, good or bad. Here in Dunya, when family conflicts can’t be
solved you call intermediaries to come, listen, and give solution. There on judgement day
Allah will be witness, you can’t even say that “I didn’t mean it, your heart, tongue, brain will
say when you will keep quiet”. So no place to hide. “Fayunabbiyukum bima kuntum
tamalun”- Allah says you all will be in my court, and I will tell you what did you do in
detail. I will ask both parties- parents, and kids, if you have done fair, justice-based
treatments from your own side to the other, the way you were supposed to do. “Obedience
ends where Shirk begins”.

Hikmah (Wisdom) Extracted:
The verse balances between:
o Obedience and gratitude to parents.
o Firmness in Tawheed when they command shirk.
Even in defiance, Allah instructs: "ُرًۭف ا

Additional Wisdom Points:
Clear line drawn: Respect remains, but obedience ends where shirk begins.
Personal accountability: "To Me is your return" — you're not excused from shirk
even if family insists.
Highlights that family pressure is a real test in Iman — one that requires
firmness + respect.
Hiqmah 5: “Impossible to find” (v16)
“Ya Bunaiyah”- Luqman (ra) is giving strong advices to his son in gentle voice. It means
never misrepresent Islam when you re giving Dawah by using harsh voices, or tones. You
have to give Dawah in a very gentle voice. “Miskal/Mijaan”- Tool to weigh something
(Metric system). Allah is using a word called “a single Mustard seed” weight as standard
which doesn’t belong to human standards. “Khardal/Mukhardil”-premature fruits fell off
from palm trees which gardeners want to clean off, another ex- when you cut vegetables
certain pieces spread around which you clean off later. Seed inside a date which fell off
from trees is really insignificant. Or a seed somewhere in the sky or anywhere in land, or in
a bolder, Allah will bring forward to it Infront of everyone. Imagine, cutting a boulder to
find a mustard seed (you need to make so many bolder pieces to get that seed pure). Think
of a drop of water from your cup is going into ocean, and someone tells you to recover that
drop, how that job will be for you? You have no power/ability to do that. Even if you have
ability, you won’t be able to find it because land, sky, space, all are huge unlimited things.
That seed could be your intention/bad intention, one little glance you took, one good word
you said/bad word, a good deed/bad deed, good/bad intention, good/bad thought. Allah
will bring it out. I need laser precise tool to access to that seed.” Lutf”- subtle, delicate,
Allah’s name “Latif” means because it can pass through all layers of hard rock, space, or
ocean. ‘Latiful Khabir”- all aware of which seed gave what plants and how many branches
it made with flow of good deeds even 100,000 years later. Allah completely controls space
and time; he is extremely powerful. Luqman (ra) is saying to his son, you might do any sort
of bad deeds and hide it from world, people, for all your life, nobody in this world will ever
know about it probably, but remember one day Allah (swt) will bring it out. Smiling, a good
word, a supporting to line someone, may be unknowingly you said it, still Allah will bring it
out. Now see if Allah can bring it out he can also turn seed to a tree, or a forest. You might
underestimate it’s value by seeing others doing a lot, but you never know if Allah will turn
it to a forest of good deeds. Luqman (ra) is advising his son not to focus on false
materialistic things that people put value in dunya, like home, car, luxuries, which are not
valuable to Allah, but focus on even tiny little good deeds/ things which Allah counts
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :

highly valuable like good thinking, good intentions, good words, good sayings, stand for
injustice, raising voice for injustice, everything. Allah counts all these which people will
never do, and good deeds go to sky. When you are doing sincerely for Allah, Allah will
value it in such a way you can’t even imagine like a tree (a entire giant tree once upon was a
seed). So lesson is any good deed even it’s tiny do it because you don’t know how it’s chain
of reactions will end up at the end on the judgment day. Things which were invisible will be
significant on judgement day, and things people found valuable in Dunya will be “Haba and
Mansura- dust” on the judgement day. There will be resurrections of deeds, impacts,
and actions on Judgement Day. Someone who understands this Ayah/lesson will have
most humility and highest confidence at the same time but they will be performing for
Allah only.

Hiqmah 6: A life of Integrity, prayer and courage (v17)
Military is the best form or organization where soldiers all the time has to listen their chain
of command otherwise if they neglect following disciplines, it can be equal to death. When
it’s Salah time the chain of command came from Allah Ajjawajal, so right away you have to
leave everything to stand in front of Master- Allah. “Iqamah” came from “Qiyam”- stand for
Salah. Iqamah means establish something straight strongly, ex- you build a tower of Iqamah
so it doesn’t fall. Preserve the prayer, maintain the prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid
what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you.- That’s what advice Luqman (a) is
giving to his son. Sometimes people are so sensitive about their desires, like someone who
loves gardening everyday checking multiple times if plants are growing perfectly. Similarly,
Salah you are making connection with Allah, you need to contribute high focus, time, and
conscious state to build strong relation with Allah. If you do it with speed of light that’s just
a prayer with no dedication. Salah word came from root word “Sale” means making
connection, purification, follow closely. Ibadah, Dua, these are also form of prayers but
what’s the ultimate purpose for all? Making firm connection with Allah (Swt). When you
stand for Salah, rest everything you have to put on pause, you cannot move your hands, you
can’t stare your eyes, you have to use only certain lines in Salah. It means what? It’s exactly
replica of Day of Judgement. On that day your body parts will talk, but you can’t talk. Here
in Salah you will talk, but body parts can’t talk. It’s the opposite, but practice of saying
good words from heart with the promise of convert those words into actions in real
lives. Ex- avoiding evil deeds, arrogance, corruptions, etc. Establish “Amar Bil Maruf Wan
nahi anil munkar “through connection of Salah with Allah, means “Just stand by what is
right”. When society allows bad things to present as good, then they also present goods
things as bad. You may find yourself weird in them because you are not following what
they all are doing. To perform that behavior you need huge courage. If you don’t stand for
right and tell others people are not going to listen to you. You stand up first for what is
right, and then you speak up for what’s wrong (If possible, by hand try to stop bad, if not
by saying, if not by heart, and the last state is the weakest state of Imaan). Definitions of
right and wrong are changing in different cultures in different times. Fr ex, praying 5 times
can be considered as “As an extremist” in certain societies. We shall follow what Allah set
the definitions of right and wrong, and what prophets consistently taught us same things
centuries after centuries. We have to stand for those teachings, but not the cultural ones.
Right things were always right, like not taking interests, be good to parents, never tell lie,
never allow corruptions to happen in society, speak up for human rights, speak up for
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
justice, etc etc. When you stand for good, many people won’t like it, and our religion turns
intolerant to them.
So Luqman (a) is saying his son, establish Salah (connection with Allah), then you will have
courage to act on what Allah says which is right, and avoid wrong, and when you speak up
right you shall have consequences. People will hate you; family will leave you, you might
lose your job, you can be bullied in social media, community might leave you, you might be
even arrested by police, but these all are ok because Allah said to take the Hit- “Grit”. Allah
said “don’t be afraid of people, but afraid of me”. Allah promised to protect those who
stand for truth like the way he protected Ibrahim (a). And have patience when you have
crisis. In path of Haq, difficulties will keep coming, and you need to handle all very patiently
because you know that you will have huge reward of all these in the hereafter. So before
you jump on doing “Amar BiL Maruf” make sure first you become a sincere genuine
learner of Quran and Hadiths. Quran is for guidance, and it’s obligatory on us to read and
understand Quran. Be a consistent deep learner for a while, and when you are confident
to act upon, act and speak up and teach others, and be patient when calamities come.
All these you can follow when you have firm connection with Allah (Swt) through prayer.
Salah is a process of purifying yourself (Nafs) exactly the way a burned tree branch sheds
it’s buckles, and get a fresh one. Qiyamah came from root word ‘Qiyam”- standing for Day of
Judgement which is ultimate purpose for these all.
When you give priority to people more you have less focus on Salah because all you are
thinking of everything else of your life. But when you know how to limit other expectations
of life because you are prioritizing Allah first then you will have focus on Salah, because for
every job you will think I have to report to Allah in next 2 hrs (Like Asr Prayer). With
everything else you can ignore or prioritize less, but not Allah because to him we shall
return. Every place you look at earth you will find Allah is there, and watching you. On day
of judgement, it’s all matter what Allah thinks about me, not other people. So, when we
will act on earth all it matters if Allah is happy with me, not other people’s demands
because they won’t judge me on Day of Judgement. It’s only Allah, and it’s all about him.
“We came form him and to him we shall return only, innalillahi wainnah ilaihi rajiun”-
That’s the best advice a father can give to his son to establish, and maintain a
relationship with Allah through performing devoted Salah, gain enough courage to act
upon “Amar Bil Maruf Wan Nahi Anil Munkar”, and be patient when crisis hits on this
path.

Hiqmah 7: How to treat people (v18)
Don’t show attitude to people, don’t stare at people with anger, don’t breathe out in front of
people with frustrations, these all are “Nusayyir Khaddaka linnasi”. These all activities
make others feel insignificant in front you. Sometimes people even categorize group as
insignificant like “All Asians are low thinkers, entire medical industry is corrupted, all
Americans are racists, etc”. So this attitude is a sign of arrogance like you are above all
them, which is wrong. Ex- Prophet Muhammad (s) faced three battles, Badr, Uhud, and
Ahjab, in against of Quraish, but still when comes to “Hudaibiyah Treaty” Allah indicated to
Muhammad (s) that “don’t think all Quraish are disbelievers”. Even in Quraish there can be
some believer individuals which you might not know. In Musa (a)’s story, he met with an
Egyptian military man who came to him asking for protection because he escaped from
Phero’s Empire, and now army is looking for killing him. In fact, he was also another reason
how Musa (a) was saved. So entire Egyptian army of Pheroh was not evil, few people were
honest over there as well. So Luqman (a) is advising his son “Don’t be quick in passing
judgement on people”, “don’t be quick to dismiss people”. It creates false sense of
moral superiority, or tribalism. Like Luqman (a) if every father would have given this
advice to their kids, we wouldn’t have faced social discriminations, class discriminations,
racial discriminations, national superiorities, and all on earth. United States, Israel, they
have height of arrogance because they feel superior than other countries. Here the learning
lesson is, you have to stand for ‘Amar bil maruf wan nahi anil munkar”, but at the
same time you can’t turn away your face from people who is doing wrong”. You will
hate the wrong deeds, but not the people. You will not make any personal attack on
people because that’s going to create animosity in against of you, plus you will be
misrepresenting Deen to them. ‘Maraha and fakhara”-don’t walk on earth with
arrogance, and seek for attention. Seeking an attention (Maraha) is an heinous act. Ex-
When some people enter in a hall room and want everyone to notice them. Don’t walk
around on earth impulsively, ex- American kids want to study out of state at undergrad
because they want to be away from home with arrogance, false freedom of life. So Luqman
(a) was giving this invaluable advice to his son that not to turn away face from anyone, and
walk boastfully on earth, because Allah doesn’t like anyone who is boastful.
Hiqmah 8: Don’t live an empty life (V18)
Being wild and outrageous is part of arrogance, and Quran says to avoid outrageous people.
Making someone feel worthless, or not worthy of having conversations is also another type
of arrogance. Making someone feel little (Sagar-Small). Giving silent treatment- someone
wants to speak to you and you consistently ignore. This is how also you make someone feel
little. You can say to the other person that you are not feeling okay to talk now, give some
response. But when you completely become silent that’s an arrogant response as well. By
acting this way you are showing other person is cheap. “Marah”- water escapes from it
easily, a person being “maruh” means someone is hungry when had food they literally
grabbing stuffs, very quick to do something, impulsive. Here in this Ayah Luqman (a) is
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :

teaching his son “don’t act on everything on earth in impulsive manner”, like jumping
from one act to other without thinking, bombarded with thoughts of society, and family,
and they let go all religious teachings and build a new world of social demands without
deep thinking is called “Marah”. At that point when someone comes for religious teachings,
or warnings you ignore them, and make them feel low, and that is arrogance. Arrogance
only means you are so selfish that you only think of yourself. Specially this attitude comes
someone when receives Allah’s blessings, like money, job, power, and they feel powerful,
and then they become very hostile to other people’s good advice. Ex- when Teen kids turn
to adults. In summery when people stop taking other’s good advices become impulsive,
or “Maraha”. Here in west foster kids who are grown up in foster care center most of the
time gets depressed, involve into drugs, alcohols, or what not, but one day just take one
good advice from a school teacher, and their life changes because they acted upon the
advice, and become capable to control on many things which they were impulsive about.
Humanity needs advice, and Allah always will send someone in your life who will give
you good advice. When someone is so outgoing and social with so many activities
sometimes, they have worst relation with closest people, because closest people warned
them to be in path of truth/ other good advices which they didn’t like. Being ready to listen
senior/experienced people’s advice is a great practice of wisdom/Hiqmah in someone’s

Allah doesn’t love those who loves to be in illusion being pride and boastful.

When you treat someone with respect though they are spiritually far — that’s a sign
you understand Allah's Mercy is greater than your judgment.
True ḥikmah = Humility + Patience + Mercy + Long-term vision
Hiqmah 9: Walk with purpose (V 19)
Allah doesn’t like someone who is “Fakhr” and “Mukhtal”- hollowness inside without
substance. True believers are very humbled to each other, but humility also doesn’t mean
you feel worthless in front of someone. “I am nothing, I am non one”-Mantra by saying
repetitively you are denying Allah’s favor that he has given to you. You can’t change your
voice (weak voice) in front of someone who is powerful. Of course you won’t be arrogant,
but at the same time you won’t feel yourself worthless as well. When Yousuf (s) spoke in
front of King of Egypt, he not only explained the dream, but also gave next 15 year of
financial plan of maintaining Egypt. He was a foreigner, slave, and inmate in Jail cell later,
so he could have thought not to talk in front of King’s prestigious cabinet members who are
strategists, economists, Phds, finance experts, and what’s not. But rather focusing on expert
people there he was confident about how he can add value on this financial plant of Egypt.
He said I want to be a Treasury Expert of city of Egypt. Why? Because 1) He will be
“Hafizun Amin”- He will safeguard the duty, means he is trustworthy. He is focusing on

quality of himself. You have to demonstrate your confidence in front of people, and this is
not arrogance, rather very important that Allah ordered us to demonstrate. Previous ayah
was about arrogant people who from inside are empty and hollow about truth and reality,
but outside very bold and outspoken because of their arrogance which Allah said about
them to avoid these people. So basically, we need to balance our walk- don’t walk too fast
and don’t walk too slow. “Qasad”- means purposeful walk with intention and balance.
Every walk should be to achieve something big, meaningful project, purpose-based
campaign, social work, social talk, collect people for unitedness, something for well-being
of people, voice for justice, education for everyone, and so many can be there. You have to
make “Clear attainable small goals” so at the end you can achieve a huge goal/target. Ex-
people who run for Marathon often run miles after miles but they always target for small
goals first though, otherwise higher chance to give up. When someone sets an unattainable
gigantic goal in beginning, they might give up easily because of the fear if they will be able
to finish it ever. Little step fulfills a bigger goal. Tangible actions you should take that you
can actually achieve. People are on meaningful mission, and that’s all is significant to Allah.
You might not able to finish your target, but you strive for it everyday by attaining small
goal, and that’s how everyday becomes successful. Surah An-Najm (53:39),” "And that
there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives." So being on purposeful
journey is important rather than reaching to finish line. Your efforts are all matter to Allah
rather than the target. A thousand miles start with a single step. Nothing will come to you
unless you put efforts for that. That’s what Luqman (a) is advising to his son, that you set
your meaningful purpose, but then break it into small attainable goals, and aim to finish
one by one. When you are serious about your goals and you are on a mission you forget
about all your distractions, like friends, entertainments, food, etc. Distractions become
invisible to you, and you are not doing “Marah” any more, like aimlessly jumping from
one distraction to the other, rather continuously focusing on fulfilling mission.
Purpose/mission give you confidence. Confidence means you are sure what you are doing,
and you don’t need to prove yourself to anybody. You don’t need to see what others are
doing because you are confident about your doing. Also, you don’t look for other people’s
validations like whether they are saying “Good job, mashallah, like, etc”, because you know
for whom you are doing? It’s for Allah, for your hereafter. Now in last part of the ayah
Allah is saying “also lower your voice”. How “moderate in pace” and “lower your voice” are
aligned together? It means you don’t need to loud your voice to inform others like what you
are doing. It will be remarkable to them and they will come to you if you achieve anything
bigger. Ex- Now a day for every program, service, product, people do advertisements, and
advertisements are like endorsements. A celebrity (who achieved something) has to come
and say your product is good, so it gets validated by his word, and people may rely on your
product. It’s like otherwise product itself can’t stand on its feet. That’s kind of fake
marketing. Fake people (Marha) try to get attentions of other people, but true
missionaries silently work for their missions without any validations. They move with
moderate pace towards mission, plus they work silently by lowering their voice because
they are highly confident about their mission. These are the people Allah actually say
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
“Qubuul” too because these people are very sincere to their missions. Allah accepts their
work because of their sincerities. Their efforts, contributions, speak for their missions, and
people from far automatically gravitate towards them. Allah’s help comes for people only
who are “Mukhliseen”-sincere about their purpose. If someone comes to support in your
mission is good, but if none does still you are well and good, because Allah is any way with
you. In Surah Tawbah, in battle of Tabuk, when Muslim army was the biggest in size, still
so many Muslims left the battle because archers were throwing arches from the top like
showers of rain, and Muhammad (a) was all alone left in the middle of the battlefield. Then
Allah said to these people, Allah’s messenger doesn’t need your help. Allah is enough for
him, and Allah protected Muhammad(s). You should rather be part of this battle because
of your good (hereafter). Allah doesn’t need you, but you need Allah. Even Allah helped
Muhammad (a) from the very beginning when no Muslims were there in Macca, and in
battle of Tabuk also Allah protected Muhammad(a) when huge Muslim army were there. So
always make purpose for Allah, set small goals, and work towards mission silently,
and Allah will give you victory. Another ex, high school kids who shout/scream a lot to
get attention of others don’t gain much in later life (they might be managers of restaurants)
while students who studied and acted silently become owner of ten restaurants later. It’s
just the fact that they were so silently devoted to their missions. And that’s the second last
advice/Hiqmah Luqman (a) gave to his son.
Hiqmah 10: Lower your voice (V 19)
“Waqsid fi mashyika” -Moderate in place also means with purpose you will step
moderately but make sure you also balance the works based on priorities. Your daily, short
term, and long-term activities you need perform based on priorities with balance. Surround
yourself with people of purpose where you don’t need to loud your voice. If you are around
with loud and obnoxious people then you need to make your voice even louder than them.
Being loud is not what make you stand out. By being loud none can make themselves
powerful. Your behavior is going to attract certain type of people towards you. Donkeys
make sound when they have no attacks or emergencies, while all other animals scream
loud when they are attacked by predators. That means when donkeys are actually in attack
no body cares. If someone screams for no reason for every issue, then what they care for
and what you don’t care for has equal value. You should only scream when it’s really
necessary. By being vocal unnecessarily, you will forcefully make good and wise people
stay away from you with distance, because that’s something is not in their nature. So, you
will end up with like minded people around who also scream for no reason like donkeys.
It’s a way of communication that Luqman (a) is suggesting to his son. When someone
is angry all the time people level them up like “Angry man”, and your value for anger on
specific valid issues make you invalid. Your sounds are as meaningless as annoying sounds
of donkeys. The one who is trying to be the loudest, to be heard most, is actually hard least.
That’s a communication principal. So, we have to make our communication tempered
and measured. May Allah help us to be effective communicators, and balanced

communicators, and that’s part of balanced life as well. And that’s the advice and Hiqmah
Luqman (a) delivered to his son.

"Call upon your Lord with humility and privately; indeed, He does not like the
transgressors."
Here again, the tone of voice (humble, quiet) is linked to proper adab (manners)
before Allah.
Verse 20-21: It Emphasizes Allah’s blessings regarding celestial and terrestrial
provisions, public and private favors, where it also contrasts disbelievers’ lack of gratitude
with the behavior of those who argue about Allah without knowledge, lacking guidance or
any illuminated scripture. Ex: Most of the universe is made up of dark matter and dark
energy — unseen forces that hold galaxies together and affect the universe’s expansion.
Gravity, for example, is invisible, but it keeps planets in orbit, oceans in place, and stars
from scattering. We feel gravity’s effects, but its exact nature is still mysterious, and it's
never been directly observed — only inferred. Another ex, The autonomic nervous
system (ANS) controls involuntary bodily functions — like heartbeat, digestion, breathing,
temperature regulation, etc. It’s hidden, and you don’t consciously command your heart
to beat or your lungs to breathe. It constantly adjusts blood pressure, hormone release, and
organ function — without any effort from you. How someone can deny all these blessings?
It’s only possible when people are not contemplating, and busy with silly materialistic lives
that is guided by desire (Nafs) rather than deep intellectual thoughts. Their hearts are blind
to see the path of truth, and guidance from Divine Creator.
Whenever divine revelations come to them, they reject and hide behind ancestral customs
to justify ignoring direct revelation—a form of intellectual laziness and denial. This also
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :

highlights the danger of this mindset: equating cultural habits with divine guidance risks
leading souls astray, even into eternal punishment. In fact lack of Imaan (not focusing on
“Yatlu alaihim ayatihi”), intellectual laziness, temporary enjoyments, tendency of avoiding
hardships, procrastinations in finding truths, easiness to live in illusions, plus on top of
everything, Satan’s consistent influence make them follow ancestor’s religions devotedly
even when reality is Satan is leading them towards torments of Jahannam. “Awalau” is used
for asking question. Still disbelievers will do so when Satan is taking them towards the
blaze of fire?
Verse 22-24: This verse (verse 22) represents inner transformation and personal
awakening. "Submitting one’s face" symbolizes eliminating ego and desires, aligning the
self fully with divine will. Muḥsin is not just one who performs good deeds, but one whose
entire life reflects beauty, ethics, and excellence. True success lies in surrender to Allah
(Swt) with sincerity and righteousness, and all final matters return to Allah only.
Verse 23 is very similar to the message of Surah Yasin, Verse 12. Allah is saying Prophet
Muhammad (s) not to grieve because disbelievers (Kafers) will return to Allah soon, and
their all-evil actions are recorded in details with divine tablet (Lawhe Mahfuz). Allah's
knowledge includes even hidden intentions and hidden sins, so they are no way to escape.
In fact, Allah doesn’t have any value of this Dunya, otherwise he wouldn’t have allowed a
sip of water to disbelievers (Kafers). So loosing here is nothing when someone is protecting
hereafter.
Verse 24 says, Allah permits temporary worldly pleasures to those who deny truth, but
will ultimately pull them helplessly to a harsh fate. It highlights their powerlessness
before divine decree and the inevitability of divine justice. The ghalīẓ punishment
symbolizes the real, irreversible outcome of ignoring divine guidance. Pleasure is only for
short term (short-sighted lifestyle) which will end soon with severe punishment.
Verse 25-27
Verse 25 emphasizes that although idolaters recognize Allāh as Creator when asked, they
persist in worshipping others—despite acknowledging His singular dominion. Aal-Ghanī
(“Rich, Free of all wants”) as meaning Allāh has no need of anyone or anything, while
everything else depends on Him. Al- Ḥamīd (“Praiseworthy”) means he is worthy of all
praise for His creation and actions, even when no one praises. He doesn’t need praise from
people, because he is self-sufficient. People who truly grateful to Allah from heart must
move toward gratitude and sincere devotion to Allah, but not just mere verbal
acknowledgment. That means it calls for personal transformation (Through Imaan to
personal Tazkiah) where recognition of divine truth calls believers to align society and
ethics with it by establishing Allah’s system of Justice on earth through following divine
scriptures.
Verse 26 states, Allah is fully self-sufficient, and everything in between heaven and
earth he owns, and he is highly praise worthy for that. Now let’s see so far what we
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :
Fateha
know about space, that’s in between heaven and earth. Recent studies, including telescope
deep fields and modeling, now estimate up to 2 trillion galaxies—or even more when
accounting for ultra-faint galaxies not directly observed. And that’s just observable space;
the actual universe beyond could be vastly larger—potentially even infinite—containing
many times more galaxies. Laniakea is the name given in 2014 to our supercluster of
galaxies, not a single galaxy. It includes the Local Group (Milky Way, Andromeda, and
satellites), Virgo Cluster, and about 100,000 galaxies, spanning roughly 500 million
light-years across. New observations from JWST and Euclid are revealing: Over 1,678
galaxy groups in a single JWST deep-field. A barred spiral galaxy, J0107a, only 2.7 billion
years after the Big Bang—much earlier than expected. 26 million galaxies in one week
captured from Euclid, and up to 1.5 billion galaxies planned to map dark energy’s influence
(What is Euclid? The Euclid Space Telescope—launched by the European Space Agency
(ESA) in July 2023—is tasked with answering one of the biggest mysteries in cosmology).
JWST and Hubble deep-field campaigns show 800,000 galaxies cataloged in COSMOS-Web.
In fact, gravity and magnetic forces try to slow the expansion by pulling matter together,
where as dark energy is the only known force pushing everything apart on cosmic scales.
It's one of the deepest mysteries in modern physics. Dark energy is the invisible force that
is causing the accelerated expansion of the universe. It accounts for about 68–70% of the
total energy content of the universe.
This ayah reminds us, everything in all of this, seen or unseen, measured or theorized—
belongs to Allah. Even phenomena like dark energy, which is invisible and
incomprehensible, fall within the realm of “La fis samawati wal ard -whatever is in the
heavens and the earth”). Allah owns, sustains, and governs it without effort. Human
discovery of these facts does not increase the dominion of Allah, but it only unveils how
vast his dominion already is. The beauty and order we find—galactic structures, cosmic
webs, fine-tuned constants, the emergence of life, and even the force of dark energy point
to something worthy of praise. Scientists often describe the universe as "elegant," "fine-
tuned," or "unfathomably beautiful." Allah is Al-Ḥamīd, deserving of all praise for creating
such complexity, balance, and majesty. Whether humans recognize him or not, the entire
cosmos praises him through its order, obedience, and submission to the laws he has
placed. Every galaxy, atom, and energy field are a silent testimony to the might and wisdom
of the Creator.
Verse 27 states, we live in a universe that even your best scientists can’t fully comprehend.
“If every tree and sea on Earth can’t capture His wisdom—why act as if you know
better than Him?” Why disbelievers (Mushirques in Macca) act in such weird way like
everything is created by chance? This verse speaks directly to the heart of human pride.
It tells us: “You live in a world designed with infinite wisdom. You are not here by chance.
And the One who created it is beyond what any mind can measure.” It invites us to worship
Allah not just through ritual, but through reflection, submit not out of fear, but out of
recognition of his majesty, and acknowledge that human limits point us toward the
Divine.

Verse 28-30
Verse 28 emphasizes Allah’s omnipotent power. He can instantly create or resurrect
billions with the same ease as one. His hearing and sight are similarly unlimited; nothing
can escape them. We must appreciate how effortless it is for God to handle all creation, and
acknowledge his constant awareness of our deeds. This awareness leads believers toward
ethical accountability, knowing they are always “heard” and “seen” by God, which
demands purification of hearts and spiritual transformations. It dismantles the illusion
that divine power and judgment are distant or limited.
Verse 29 explains facts about night and day cycle, and the sun and moon obey divine law—
no celestial body operates independently. The night and day cycle has been designed in
ways so people can perform all sort of activities in the day time, and at night they can rest,
and relax. This is a simple way Allah designed the role play of sun and moon so in an
integrated they impact not only on human lives, but other living creatures as well, plus to
maintain the entire ecosystem. Hadith quotes that magnificent celestial bodies, like the Sun
surrenders under Allah’s Throne before returning to rise again, emphasizing Allah’s
sovereignty over celestial bodies. This cultivates humility, knowing even entire galaxies
and celestial bodies are fully under divine decree and timeline. These signs refute the idea
that nature is independent or divine, rather call for recognition of One Creator who
meticulously oversees every motion in the universe and every act of us on Earth. To whom
we shall return and answer on Day of Judgement, again points toward moral
responsibilities with pure hearts (free of sins and wrong deeds, avoid shirks) towards the
community by enforcing Allah’s Deen on Erth.
Verse 30 indicates call to reflection, to see daily cosmic rhythms not as neutral
phenomena, but as messages affirming monotheism and Divine sovereignty. These
signs should awaken hearts to the truth of Tawḥīd by rejecting all forms of shirk
(associating partners), whether in actions, intentions, or ideologies. These universal signs
challenge any notion of multiple powers or interdependence (Batil-falsehood) and that’s
why Allah (Swt) is the only Haqq (Truth), and he is “Aliyul Kabir”- The highest, the
greatest. Al-ʿAliyy reminds he is exalted beyond imagination—above the heavens,
untouched by corruption or weakness, and Al-Kabīr reminds you that despite being
exalted, his power reaches everything- nothing is beyond his will or control.
Verse 31- 34
Verse 31 talks about Allah’s signs again like how ships sail ˹smoothly˺ through the sea by
the grace of Allah. The fine-tuning of natural laws (density of water, force of gravity,
atmospheric pressure, etc.) makes ship travel possible. If water's properties or gravity
were slightly different, marine transport could not exist. Their coordination is not a
coincidence, but it's a Divine System engineered for human benefit. Every law of physics
that makes sailing possible — from fluid dynamics to tides (influenced by the moon),
reflects a universe built on consistent, intelligible order. Marine science, weather
By Fatema Zohora, Batch :

forecasting, GPS navigation, hydrodynamics, all depend on this predictability. These “signs”
include:
The Earth’s stable gravity and magnetic field (used in compasses)
The moon’s tidal pull (vital for sea movement)
The ability to measure sea depth, navigate currents, and predict storms
Believers who contemplate on Allah’s creations and stay steadfast, and thankful on Allah’s
path, Allah open’s their hearts to see great signs of Allah. In fact, believers naturally tend to
think more and that’s why should grow scientific mindset which is fully aligned with Islam.
Great discoveries often leave scientists in awe and gratitude at nature’s complexity. A
believing heart sees science not as detached mechanics, but as the language through
which Allah shows His power.
Verse 32 mainly points toward the ungrateful arrogant disbelievers who assume
everything in reality is happening without a controller behind it. Ex- Rogue Sea waves in
this verse which may sink a ship, and when disbelievers face it, unknowingly they cry for
divine help to protect them, but the moment ship reaches shore safely they become
ignorant/forgetful of Allah’s blessing, The crises reveal natural sincerity; the transition to
moderation shows moral weakness; refusal to believe shows spiritual betrayal. The verse
warns that denial in calm times is a sign of both spiritual and moral failure. That’s why
Tazkiah is necessary with contemplation on ayahs/signs, so true gratitude isn’t temporary
rather endures beyond hardship.
Vesre 33 is a call to wake up from worldly drowsiness, embrace individual
responsibility, and act with authentic devotion. The unique parent-child bond is used as a
metaphor to show that on Judgment Day, even the strongest human bonds won’t matter.
The verse warns against being deceived by worldly life or self-deception instigated by
Satan. So, each soul is solely responsible—no one can substitute or guarantee salvation for
another on the Day of Judgement.
Verse 44 mentions about five exclusive matters which are only known to Allah.
1. Knowledge of the Hour (Day of Judgment)
2. Rainfall (how much, when, where)
3. Contents of the womb (life, gender, character, lifespan)
4. What one will earn tomorrow (destiny, decisions, deeds)
5. Where one will die
The above fives exclusively in Allah’s knowledge, as part of al-Ghayb (the Unseen). Not
even prophets, angels, or any technology can fully access them. There is also authentic
hadith regarding these five exclusive matters only known to Allah, which is narrated by
