CPSC eFiling system (2025)
The CPSC is currently implementing an eFiling system which will make it mandatory to submit
electronic information for products that require a CPC or GCC. eFiling will likely be mandatory for
a wide range of consumer products.

H.R.9864 - Keep Food Containers Safe from PFAS Act of 2024 (Bill introduced)
This Act amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit food packaging containing
intentionally added PFAS (Learn more).
H.R.8074 - Forever Chemical Regulation and Accountability Act of 2024 (Bill introduced)
This bill aims to phase out the production of nonessential uses of PFAS. For example, PFAS should
be prohibited in cosmetics, indoor textile furnishing, upholstered furniture, and handbags (Learn

FCC Cybersecurity Labeling Program
The FCC has proposed a voluntary cybersecurity labeling program for Internet of Things (IoT)
devices or products (Learn more).

Deforestation Regulation (EU) 2023/1115
The EUDR sets documentation requirements for companies importing products made of wood
and other raw materials. It was postponed from 2024-12-31 to 2025-12-31 and will be updated.

Digital Product Passport
A major development in the EU is the Digital Product Passport. The Toy Safety Regulation draft
from 2024 states that manufacturers will be required to create a Digital Product Passport that can

be accessed via a data carrier - possibly a QR code - that gives consumers access to compliance
data online. This is expected to apply to other products at some point as well.

The UK government extended recognition of the CE marking for toys, electronics, and other
products sold in the UK, indefinitely, via The Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment)

Retained EU laws and Assimilated laws

Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is dynamically aligned with EU rules. Hence, many existing and future EU

Amazon UK
We have received reports from UK companies selling on Amazon being asked to comply with the
new GPSR in the EU - as they enforce requirements that also apply in Northern Ireland.
