2. The function of each part of a plant.
a) Roots:
Tree roots anchor the tree in the soil, keeping it straight and stable, and absorb water from
the soil. Tree roots also take nutrients and chemicals out of the soil and use them to
produce what they need for the tree's growth, development, and repair.
b) Flowers :
Flowers do much more than just provide beauty and lovely scents. Their primary purpose
is reproduction. They make seeds, helping plants to reproduce and form the next
generation.
c) Leaf:
Leaves make food for the plant. How ????
Water from the roots, sunlight from the sun, Carbon dioxide from the air are absorbed by
the leaves. Together with the chlorophyll in the leaves. This process is
called___________.
d) Stem:
It provides support for the plant, hold the flowers, leaves and buds. It also transport water
and minerals from the soil to the whole plant.
