Request for Approval to Establish a Buddhist Daham School in Abu Dhabi


We are pleased to inform you that we are planning to establish a Buddhist Daham
School in Abu Dhabi to cater to the spiritual and cultural education of the Sri Lankan children
residing here. At present, we have approximately 150 Sri Lankan students enrolled in our
main educational institution, and we believe it is important to provide them with proper
Dhamma education.

The Daham School will be operated under the guidance of Ven. Kotagama Pangnasiri
Thero, holder of Sri Lankan Passport No. N9213210 and NIC No. 771013600V, who will
serve as the Head of the School. He will travel to Abu Dhabi during examination periods and
every six months to oversee the progress of the school and its students.

Additionally, Hon. Maddegama Kumara Kashyapa Thero, Passport No. N6990136, will
serve as the Advisor to the Daham School. All teaching activities will be carried out by
qualified Sri Lankan teachers who are degree holders and well-versed in Buddhist education.

Therefore, we kindly request formal approval and support from the Ministry of
Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka. We also respectfully request the
Management of Sri Sakya Singha University to extend their assistance in providing the
necessary arrangements and resources for the establishment and ongoing operation of this
Daham School.
