ABSTRACT
This study explores how different genres of
music affect the mood and cognitive
performance of teenagers aged 15 to 17.
Through a structured research method, data
was collected on how music influences
emotions, focus, memory, and motivation
during daily tasks. The results show that
calming genres like classical and lo-fi often
improve concentration, while upbeat genres
such as pop and hip-hop boost mood but may
sometimes reduce academic focus. The study
concludes that music, when selected
purposefully, can serve as a helpful tool for
emotional regulation and mental performance.
However, its effects vary depending on
personal preference, listening context, and
task type, highlighting the importance of
mindful listening.
