Introduction
The Red Ribbon is a symbol for Multiple Sclerosis, drunk driving
prevention, drug prevention and for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Red Ribbon
International is an organization founded in 1993 whose main purpose is the
education about prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV,
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome Related Complex, ARC and AIDS.
Red Ribbon is a globally recognized symbol for HIV/AIDS awareness.
Establishment of Red Ribbon Clubs was an important initiative undertaken by
the Government of India to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and associated
myths among the youth and empower them as per educators. For this Parishkar
International College has started Red Ribbon Club.
Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in
schools and colleges through which, students will spread awareness over HIV /
AIDS. It envisages installing charity mind among all the students to extend their
able help towards developing healthy lifestyles, donating blood to all the needy
by promotion of Regular voluntary blood donation.
The Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary on campus intervention program for
students. The program organized by RRC addresses the knowledge, attitude and
behavior of the youths in the interrelated areas of Voluntary Blood Donation,
HIV & AIDS, as demanded by their age, environment, and lifestyle.

OBJECTIVES
Educate youth with correct, concise, and adequate information and heighten
their level of awareness about HIV AIDS, STI and other related issues (thus
eliminate myths and misconceptions).
Enable youth to identify and understand situations of exploitation and
abuse.
Sensitize the youth regarding care and support needs of people affected
with HIV AIDS and instill in them the spirit to reduce the stigma and
discrimination against them.
Create and train among the youth a cadre of peer educators for spreading
awareness about HIV-AIDS and its prevention in the community. The
RRC youth of Parishkar International College is encouraged to learn
about safe and healthy lifestyles.
The RRC promotes access to information on healthy life and voluntary blood
donation. They create and provide opportunity to the zeal of volunteerism
among youth to contribute towards the control and prevention of HIV&AIDS.

RRC Guidelines
The significance of Red Ribbon in HIV / AIDS is:
Red like Love, as a symbol of passion and tolerance for those affected.
Red like Blood, representing the pain caused by many people who have of
AIDS.
Red like the anger about the helplessness about which we are facing for a
disease for which there is still no cure.
Red is a sign of warning not to carelessly ignore one of the biggest
problems of our time.

RRC Activities:
Red Ribbon Club program with the objective of bringing about behavior
change in young minds employs various strategies like:
Celebrating Life Program
Peer education and leadership trainings
Cultural Competitions
Interactions with positive people, Transgender, Injection Drug users,
ICTC- Counsellors
Awareness campaigns (Rallies, Outreach activities)
Red Marathon and Drama Competition
Under The light of aforesaid guidelines and objectives, RRC of Parishkar
International College organized various competitions and activities in year
2024-25.

Activity Details :
To promote awareness about HIV/AIDS and healthy lifestyle through
community participation.
To engage youth in physical activity while spreading the message of
“Run for Life – Say No to HIV”.
To instill a sense of social responsibility and fitness among students and
local citizens.
To mark the spirit of independence and health consciousness on the eve
of Independence Day.

Activity Details :
To raise awareness about cardiovascular health, its risk factors, and
prevention strategies among students and staff.
To promote the adoption of a heart-healthy lifestyle, including proper
nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management.
To encourage routine health check-ups and early detection of heart-
related issues.
To engage youth in spreading the message “Use Heart, Know Heart,
Love Heart” as responsible health ambassadors in society.

Name of Event: Blood Donation
Activity Details :
To promote voluntary blood donation as a life-saving act of kindness and
civic responsibility.
To raise awareness about the importance of safe and regular blood
donation in saving lives during emergencies, surgeries, and for patients
with chronic illnesses.
To encourage youth participation in blood donation and remove fears or
myths associated with the process.
To support local hospitals and blood banks by contributing to a readily
available and safe blood supply in the community.

Activity Details :
To raise awareness among youth about different forms of violence faced by
women, including physical, emotional, sexual, and digital abuse.
To educate students on legal rights, helplines, and support systems
available for women.
To promote gender sensitivity and mutual respect in educational
environments.
To encourage youth to take a stand as active allies against gender-based
violence.

Activity Details :
To raise awareness about HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, and stigma
reduction among students and the community.
To honor and support individuals living with HIV and remember those
who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses.
To encourage voluntary testing, safe practices, and empathetic behavior
toward affected individuals.
To promote the role of youth in creating an HIV-free society through
education, activism, and responsible action.

Activity Details :
To promote awareness on physical, emotional, and psychological changes during
adolescence.
To encourage safe health practices including nutrition, hygiene, mental health,

To create an inclusive environment where both boys and girls feel confident
discussing health-related issues.
To break taboos and reduce stigma around menstruation, puberty, and
reproductive health.
