Photography Workshop

A third state level 2-days Photography Workshop


(Photoengineers) had organized by T&P Cell on 25-26 April
2022. The whole event is co-ordinate by Prof S. T. Patel and
Prof. B. K. Patel. Total 23 participants from various engineering
colleges and organizations across the Gujarat have actively
participated in the workshop. Saurabh Desai, a well known
Nature, Fine art and Wildlife photographer whose work has
been published on many national and international platforms
have shared his experience as a main speaker. Prof. Milap
Madhikar has also delivered various talk on the subject.

Environment week celebration


Environment pollution is a global issue as it is increasing gradually and causing a serious impact on living organisms including humans. The Environment and Energy
Cell coordinated by Dr Kashyap L. Mokariya and Prof Dipendrasinh C. Parmar, ECO Club coordinated by Dr Badresh R. Sudani, NSS coordinated by Prof Jignesh R. Joshi and
with support of all head of departments, faculty member and students one-week Environment awareness campaign was conducted in which students from all departments
participated.

An expert session for nature in India was organized by Shri Mautik Dave State Head WWF (World Wide Fund) on 4th June 2022. He also talked about the environmental
activities carried out by the WWF and the activities related to animal protection. He also talked about the trees to be planted in different areas and regions according to the
geographical area of the place. The second session was delivered by Dr Kashyap L. Mokariya regarding the Importance of spreading awareness for Environment. He highlighted
the Natural Pollution and manmade pollution. The Industrial pollution (45%), waste burning (17%), Diesel Generator (9%), Transport sector (14%) (Probably second largest
in world), Dust and construction (8%), Domestic cooking (7%). He also highlighted the importance of tree plantation along with Dr Badresh R. Sudani. Dr B R Sudani also
explained pen recycling activity and biomass Briquette making. An environmental awareness play was prepared by first year and second year electrical engineering students
and supported by chemical engineering students. More than 150 trees were planted not only in GEC Valsad campus but also in Government Officer Colony Valsad, Segvi,
Pallihill, Mograwadi, Halar. Students performed plays and spread awareness in many places of Valsad district.

Student Start-up and Innovation Institution’s Innovation Council

On the occasion of national Technology day GEC, Valsad has provided an opportunity to the students to showcase their skill of presenting their technical skill and knowledge
through an event: Poster Presentation Contest 2K22. The theme of the event was “Recent Advancement in Science and Technology”. Around 50 posters on different topics
were presented by the students. Around 50 teams consisting of 200+ students have participated in the event. Prof. S. V. Damania inaugurated the event and given a speech
on the occasion. The event was coordinated by Dr. R. C. Malan and Dr. B. R. Sudani. Prof. H. M. Jariwala, Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Prof. S. K. Patel, Prof. H. N. Patel have provided
his expertise as jury member of the contest. The event management was handled by Prof. V. R. Visavaliya and his team.

Expert sessions on ‘Innovation and Opportunities for Sustainable Poster Presentation Contest: 2022- National Technology Out of the Box Thinking for Problem Solving
Development’ Day

IIC–GECV has conducted two expert sessions on ‘Innovation and Opportunities for Sustainable Development’ at K. B. S. Haria Commerce College and Natraj Professional
Science College, Vapi on 07th July, 2022. Dr. B. R. Sudani and Dr. R.C. Malan has delivered the talks on the said topic. Around 200 students have participated in the event.

An online Session on “Out of the Box Thinking for Problem Solving” was organized as an MIC driven activity under IIC-GECV on 28th June, 2022. Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director,
IIT Madras has provided information regarding the newly launched course by IIT, Madrash for the students to make them able to think out of the box. The activity has been
coordinated by Dr. C. Malan, President IIC-GECV.

Expert Session

An International webinar on Technology Driven Innovation and Start-ups in Electrical Vehicles was conducted on Microsoft team platform on 21st June, 2022. A session
expert Dr. Pritam Gujarati, is a business developer, i-Switch technologies and business service LLC, Oman. He is also a certified energy auditor. 281 participants including
students, faculty and industry persons from cross different countries have been benefited by the webinar. Dr. K. L. Mokariya, Head Electrical Engineering Department and
Dr. R. C. Malan, Head Applied Science Department have coordinated the webinar under the guidance of respected Dr. V. S. Purani sir, Head of the institute.

Kashyap L. Mokariya head of the Electrical department and Dr. Rajesh C. Malan
school students got benefitted. Following are the glimpses of the expert talk.
Head of the Applied Sciences and Humanity delivered a session on “Social
Innovations, Skills, Challenges and Solutions”. Total 68 enthusiastic students of
Second semester from Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering department
had participated in this Session. Mr. Bhairav Shinde chief account Manager GTT
Foundation has delivered a session on importance of soft skills for the students,
what are the needs of industry in terms of soft skills. Dr. Kashyap L. Mokariya
Head of the Electrical department has delivered a session on what is Social
Innovation, what are the challenges in Social Innovation, the skills required for
the social innovations. At the end Dr. Rajesh C. Malan President IIC committee
has delivered a session on need of entrepreneurs and start-ups for the country.
The session was coordinated by Prof. Nitin I. Patel and Prof. Devendra N. Tandel.

As per instructions received from the Director of Technical Education, the SSIP coordinators of GEC Valsad, GP Surat,
and GEC Surat (Dr S &S S Gandhy College) have to remain present in the SSIP/GKS stall at the Exhibition of Global
Patidar Business Summit 2022 at Sarsana Convention Centre, Nr. Khajod Crossing, Althan Road, Surat-395007, Gujarat,
India for three days from 29th to 1st May 2022. Being SSIP Coordinator of the Institute Dr Kashyap L. Mokariya was
present at the place on 30th April and 1st May 2022, as per communication with authorities. SSIP/GKS has taken a total
of 10 stalls in the exhibition. In 9 stalls, startups were exhibiting their products /services and in one stall the SSIP
coordinators of the colleges mentioned were present in the exhibition to brief about SSIP activities visit us. All queries
of SSIP phase 1 and SSIP phase 2 were resolved and the role of technical education institutes, Higher Education
Institutes and schools were properly conveyed. The ongoing start-up schemes of Gujarat Government and Events at
iHub Gujarat was properly conveyed to a large audience visited the stall (Approximately 1000 people). Exhibition
spread huge amount of awareness amongst the attendee.

Industrial Visit
Details of Industrial Visit: The Environmental Engineering Department organized Industrial visits at five different locations for the students of the department. The first visit
was held at Water Treatment Plant, Valsad dated 5th April 2022 (24 students from 4th semester); 6th April 2022 (6th semester students, batch-1: 30 students) and 7th April
2022 (6th semester, batch-2: 34 students). All the three batches were accompanied with Prof. Meera K. Kunvarani on day 1, Prof. Monali N. Chaudhary on day 2 and Prof.
Monali H. Patel on day 3.

The second Industrial visit was conducted at Common Effluent Treatment Plant & Centre of Excellence, Vapi dated 12th April 2022 (6th semester students, batch-1: 35
students) and 13th April 2022 (6th semester, batch-2: 34 students). Both the batches were accompanied with Prof. K. K. Modi & Prof. M. N. Chaudhary on day 1 and Prof. M.
H. Patel & Prof. M. K. Kunvarani on day 2.

Prof. M. N. Chaudhary and Prof. M. K. Kunvarani.

The fourth Industrial visit was conducted at Bharuch Enviro Infrastructure LTD (BEIL), Ankleshwar dated 25th April 2022 (27 students from 4th semester) along-with
Prof. M. N. Chaudhary and Prof. M. K. Kunvarani.

The fifth Industrial visit was conducted at TSDF site, Vapi Green Enviro Ltd., dated 4th May 2022 (14 students from 4th semester) along-with Prof. K. K. Modi.

The faculties of Environmental Engineering Department visited few industries and TECHNICAL VISIT
consultancies located near Surat and Vapi GIDC’s. The purpose of the visit was to
50 pre-final year (6th Sem) students and 35 second year (4th Sem) students of Civil
evaluate the performance of final year students undergoing 12 week internship
engineering department were visited the Ukai dam, Ukai on 8th April 2022 along with
