✅ 8(a): Dashboard to Compare Two Regions – Side-by-Side

(Sales, Profit, Discount)


🔹 Step 1: Load Dataset

 Open Tableau → Connect to Excel file → Select “Sample - Superstore (1).xls”


 Drag “Orders” sheet → Click Go to Worksheet

🔹 Step 2: Create Two Worksheets – One for Each Region

🔸 Worksheet 1: Region A

1. Drag Region → Filters → Choose “Show Filter” (right-click on filter after adding
it).
2. Drag Measure Names → Columns
3. Drag Measure Values → Rows
4. From Measure Values, keep only:
o Sales, Profit, Discount
5. Drag Region → Label
6. Rename this sheet as “Region A”

🔸 Worksheet 2: Region B

1. Duplicate the “Region A” worksheet (right-click tab → Duplicate).


2. Rename it “Region B”
3. Keep same filters – they are independent now.

🔹 Step 3: Create the Comparison Dashboard

1. Click Dashboard → New Dashboard


2. Drag “Region A” and “Region B” sheets side-by-side into the layout.
3. Add two Region filters to the dashboard:
o Click on Region filter in each sheet → “Apply to Worksheets → Only This
Worksheet”
4. Optional: Add Text boxes for titles like:
o 📌 “Compare Sales, Profit & Discount Between Two Regions”

✅ 8(b): Bubble Chart – Quantity vs Profit by Sub-


Category, Bubble Size = Sales
🔹 Step 1: Create a New Worksheet (Bubble Chart)
1. Drag Sub-Category → Rows
2. Drag Quantity → Columns
3. Drag Profit → Rows
4. Drag Sales → Size on Marks card
5. Change Marks Type to Circle
6. Drag Sub-Category to Color (optional for distinction)

Final Setup on Marks card:

 🔵 Size: Sales
 🔵 Label: Sub-Category, Profit
 🔵 Tooltip: Add Quantity, Sales, Profit

🔹 Step 2: Customize & Add to Dashboard

1. Format bubble size under Size → Edit Size if needed


2. Add axes titles like:
o X-axis: Quantity
o Y-axis: Profit
o Title: “Impact of Quantity on Profit – Bubble Size by Sales”
3. Add this sheet to a new dashboard for visual interaction.
