SPICE encourages the adoption of circular economy
technology among MSEs by subsidising a part of the
technology acquisition cost.
Smaller enterprises from eleven sectors such as plas-
tic, rubber, and electronic waste, are eligible to apply
for a subsidy under the scheme. They need to apply to
banks or participating financial institutions (PFIs) to
claim a subsidy. Under the scheme, the maximum pro-
ject cost admissible is Rs 50 lakh, with a 25% subsidy on
the cost of plant and machinery only.
“As part of the technology portal, the ministry has
identified 116 technologies eligible for subsidies under
SPICE,” said the official.
The detailed listing of technologies was important as
earlier banks would reject applications due to lack of
proper information on these.

Adani Total Q1 Profit Falls 3.5%
Mumbai: Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) on Monday repor-
ted a 3.5% decline in profit due to rising natural gas costs. Net
profit stood at `165 crore for the quarter, down from `172
crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased
21% year-on-year to `1,491 crore. Sales volumes rose by 21% for CNG
and 6% for PNG , with the company adding 26,869 new domestic PNG
connections. However, the company posted a loss of `7 crore in the
quarter ending June 31, 2026. EBITDA was `301 crore, reflecting a 2%
decrease. The loss mainly resulted from a shift in gas supply. Low-cost
