Let Us Study
Art Elements Using New Technologies
You have just identified that lines, shape, color, form, value, space, and
texture made up the image above. These are what we call elements of arts.
Do you want to apply these elements to your gadgets? Surely you can!
You can apply this using your laptop, personal computers, and cellular
phones. But for those who do not have their gadgets, don’t you worry you can
still be part of this activity
There are computer hardware and software that you can use to create
your own artwork. Software is a program that runs a computer and perform
a certain function. One of these is the MS Paint.
Microsoft Paint or MS Paint is a software
that can be used to draw lines and shapes,
color and even edit pictures from your cellular
phone and computers using different
commands.
Computer hardware is any device, object or something that you can hold
by your hands to operate. Such for example the laptop, mouse and
cellular phone.

2
How to use MS Paint to create an artwork?
These are the following steps as you begin to apply the Art Elements
using this software.
1. Go to the search menu of
your computer, then type the word
Paint.
2. When the Paint app
appears, click it. It will lead you to
the whole MS Paint features.
3. This is now the whole feature
of MS Paint, where you can
start to create artwork. Start
moving your mouse to the
different shapes, colors,
brushes, and tools so that you
will be familiarized with each
command and use.
3
Try to study the following commands to create a sample artwork.
Then, later you can do your own. Follow the yellow arrow as to where it is
pointed.
1. To start, bring the cursor to
shapes and click the shape that
you like. Drag it on the canvas.
2. Choose a color that you like for
the shape.
3. Then, click the fill icon on the tools
section. Drag towards the shape and fill.
4. You can add on other shapes
and apply the tools and other
features of MS Paint.
4
5. This is the finished artwork. To
complete the process, we are going to
save it.
6. Go to file and click save
as.
7. Save your artwork as a JPEG
picture.
Choose a folder.
8. Give a file name of your
artwork. Choose a folder on
where are you going to save it.
Then lastly, click save
5
If you are using a cellular phone, download Paint for Android App in
Google Play Store. This app has similar features and commands to MS
Paint. You can use the Advance Paint or Normal Paint of the App. Go and try
it.
Again, if you do not have a laptop and other gadgets, you can use other
art materials like rulers, crayons and coloring materials, paper, and pencil.
When you create your artwork, make sure to apply the art elements that you
have learned in our lesson. See the example below.
Let Us Practice
It’s My Turn! My Creation!

Let Us Reflect
There are a lot of designs and symbols that we can see around us. Some
are familiar like street signs, traffic symbols, names of stores, and many more.
The things around us, like trees, flowers, and animals are God’s creation,
God’s work of art.
People draw, paint, and create something. These artworks are human
expressions. They show meaning and represent something great. Have you
ever wondered how these artworks were created?
The elements of Arts that you have learned in the previous module also
apply in making and creating artwork, using new technologies like your
laptop, cellular phones and gadgets. Art Elements are important because we
cannot create art without using them. They are like building blocks, arranged
properly to be able to come up with a beautiful design.
