SPECIAL RULES
Thanks to its conception and construction, the Wave Serpent is a very maneuvrable vehicle. It does not
suffer any restrictions for turning in slow speed or in combat speed. Also, it can decelerate and stop on the
spot from any speed whatsoever. Thanks to its capacity of quick stops, its troops can exit the vehicle at any
given point without suffering any movement penalties, which have to do with the speed of the vehicle.
Debarking troops can, however, not align themselves further than 1“ from the vehicle. Instead, they are
considerd to have completed their movement phase and are treated as having moved. Other than that, they
can embark and debark according to the regular rules. The elegant curves of the Wave Serpent‘s casing are
housing an enormous energy generator, which creates an impenetrable forcefield of warp energy. This shield
can also be used offensively and can be projected like a wave of warp energy, dispersing and consuming
anything in its way before disintegrating itself. Use the special template for the warp wave and center it on
the center (nose) of the model for representing the zone protected by the generator. The wave of warp is
completely impenetrable by any form of weapons or even psychic attacks. It‘s impossible to get through. It
acts as a shield and an obstacle, permitting troops to hide behind it. Note that enemies on higher ground are
capable of firing above the field and thus get shots behind it. Indirect fire can also be projected over the warp
field. Lastly, the force field can also be used as a weapon, but this means that it will lose its shield for the
duration of the turn. The Wave Serpent can launch the wave across a distance of D6 x 10“ before it will
dissolve. The wave of warp does not work like a regular weapon. The wave is sent off during the enemy
player‘s movement phase, before he declares his charges (the guardian crewman does not have to use
overwatch? He just has to push a button). Determin the distance the wave will travel and place the template.
The terrain is not affected, but all the troops, vehicles and other targets are moved out of the way of the wave
and cannot do anything for the rest of the turn. The miniatures are deplaced according to the angle of the
wave. Also, all miniatures which are affected by the wave are hit by the warp wave with a strength of 5 and a
-2 save modifier. All vehicles which are hit by the wave are pushed away and are automatically out of control
(check p77 in the rulebook). The penetration of armour is based on the initial point of contact with the wave.
The standard tactic for eldar is to utilise Wave Serpents to drop off Striking Scorpions or Banshees in direct
proximity to heavily defended objectives, protected in total security by the warp wave. The wave serpents
then launch the wave while the warriors are debarking, dispersing the defenders and leaving them few
chances to offer resistance against the aspect warriors‘ savage charge.
