In modern days, we are living in an incessantly developing world, in which technological
improvements have a tremendous effect on human life. Some people believe that modern
technology can bridge the gap between the wealthy and the impoverished. I still contend that
these technological products are widening the difference among social classes.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people still argue that innovations in
technology narrow the gap among people with different incomes. This is because
technological products are accessible to all people thanks to their availability at a variety of
prices. For instance, Samsung has diverse smartphone segmentation at different price
levels, as a result, the affluent can purchase the high-end devices that they find appropriate
for their levels while the poor are also capable of affording. Therefore, Samsung became
one of the most popular technological brands.
On the other hand, I still believe that innovations in technology have separated wealthy
individuals from poorer ones. The most obvious reason is that driven by technology,
automation reduces the need for manual labour. As a result, less work opportunities are
available for unskilled people and the competition increases and wages decrease. Under no
circumstances will the poor have the chance to make their ways closer to the wealthy ones.
In conclusion, despite the benefits of the wide variety of technological breakthroughs to
human life, I strongly consider that it generates the differences between the high and the low
classes.
