Dear student, parents/guardians:
Welcome to Mariano Marcos State University. It is our joy and honor to be part of your
formative years.
The University is a community committed to learning that you will flourish in an environment
that is conducive to growth and dedicated to development. As members of this community,
you are expected to act responsibly and hold yourself accountable for your actions.
The primary purpose of the Student Code of Conduct and Discipline is to promote a safe,
healthy and inclusive campus environment that fosters learning where you uphold honesty,
integrity, civility and respect for yourself and others. Any behavior, whether on or off campus,
that undermines these values may constitute a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
This form will serve as a formal expression of your commitment.
Any personal information you provide will be held in utmost secrecy and confidentiality.

Conduct Inside the University
1. I shall respect authority at all times.
2. I shall wear my identification cards (ID) and the prescribed uniforms on designated days;
and I wear decent clothes based on the dress codes on designated days.
3. I shall be neat, clean, modest, and well-groomed at all times.
4. I shall observe silence and proper decorum in all university premises.
5. I shall refrain from using indecent, foul, and offensive language.
6. I shall help to keep the campus clean and orderly.
7. I shall handle facilities and equipment with utmost care.
8. I shall seek prior approval from authorities prior to my coming at the university beyond
the allowable time of attendance.
9. I shall not bring cigarettes and e-cigarettes, and/or to come under the influence of
alcoholic beverages and any illegal drugs and other prohibited, toxic and harmful
substances in the campus.
10.I shall not bring any forms of deadly weapons.
11. I shall attend my classes regularly and punctually as well as other mandated activities of
the university.
Conduct Outside the University
1. I shall project a positive image of the University, uphold and defend its integrity.
2. I shall participate in community civic programs, symposia, conferences, conventions,
religious activities and the like.
3. I shall perform my civic duties by giving sound opinions about public issues and
cooperate with local government officials in the implementation of such policies that are
directed towards the development of their community.
4. I shall manifest my charitable and fraternal spirit by helping my fellow students in their
distress, in accordance with my capacity.
5. I shall attend activities outside the university with a written permit or waiver duly signed
by my parents or guardian. And, I shall always observe proper decorum.

Conduct in the Classroom
1. I shall report to the classroom on my scheduled time.
2. I shall attend in subjects I am duly enrolled in.
3. I shall show respect, courtesy and politeness towards the instructor and fellow students.
4. I shall participate in intellectual discussions with my instructors and peers with utmost
tact.
5. I shall observe self-respect and personal integrity during examinations.
Conduct during Internship
1. I shall act professionally and ethically.
2. I shall manifest honesty, integrity, respect, and cooperation with supervisors, co-workers, and
clients.
3. I shall dress appropriately for the workplace and maintain punctuality.
4. I shall maintain confidentiality about any information related to the host organization, its
clients, projects, and personnel.
5. I shall follow all organizational policies, safety rules, and the host’s code of conduct.
6. I shall fulfill commitments, meet deadlines, and dedication in all assigned tasks.
7. I shall communicate tactfully and appropriately, seeking feedback and clarifications when
needed.
8. I shall accept constructive criticism positively and strive to improve performance and learn
new skills.
9. I shall report any unethical, illegal, or unsafe situations, including harassment or
discrimination, to the appropriate coordinator or supervisor.

Grounds for Disciplinary Action
As a student, I will not commit any fraudulent act to achieve academic advantage or gain for
myself or others, or any form of academic dishonesty:
a. Plagiarism, defined as “the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results or
words without giving appropriate credit”
b. Fabrication, defined as “making up data or results”; falsification, or “manipulating
research materials, equipment, or processes or changing or omitting data or results such
that the research is not accurately represented in the research record”; distortion and/or
destruction of data;
c. Copying or providing the means or accessing means to copy exam answers, homework,
projects, laboratory experiments, term papers, etc.; possession and/or use of cheat
devices during an examination; allowing another person to take an examination in one’s
name, and/or impersonating another student or allowing someone to impersonate oneself
in an academic activity; and manipulating a corrected exam paper;
d. Submission of the same work in two or more courses without the instructors’ consent;
e. Submission of false or fraudulent records, documents, or files;
f. Alteration of school records, documents or files;
g. False statements in a narration of facts;
h. Forging the signature of a faculty or school official or another student, regardless of the
nature of the document;
i. Unauthorized use of official documents including school identification (ID) card; and
j. Other forms of intellectual dishonesty such as knowingly furnishing false information,
distorting or omitting data that would provide the necessary and required information to

the Registrar, the instructor/ teacher, university and college offices for any academic
related purposes.

subjected to disciplinary action for breaking any of the above statements.

As a student,
1. I will not do any form of stealing.
2. I will not use school facilities, equipment, tools or machineries without authorization.
3. I will not carry firearms or deadly weapons within the university premises, as long as this
shall not apply to bladed items which are needed in connection with instruction,
experiments and field work.
4. I will not drink liquor or come in drunken behavior within the university premises.
5. I will not bring, use, or distribute any prohibited drugs, chemicals or substances like
marijuana, rugby, shabu, opiates, heroine, ecstasy or any of its forms (RA 9165).
6. I will neither play nor participate in gambling of any form within the university premises.
7. I will not join in conducting hazing or harmful initiation rites, nor recruiting neophytes,
planning, and providing a venue for hazing or harmful initiation rites.
8. I will neither cause nor participate in tumultuous affray, or other serious disturbances
such as illegal assembly and demonstration with violence within the university premises.
9. I will not intentionally make false statements, nor to commit or attempt to commit any
deception or fraud, nor submit forged documents in connection with my admission and
graduation from the university.
10.I will not bring the name of the university in shame. As a student that bears the identity of
our university or represents the university, I will perform acts that are not against public
policy, interest, morals, and good custom.
11. I will not willfully destroy nor vandalize university properties or properties belonging to
personnel, students or visitors while on campus.
12.I will not commit immorality, acts of lasciviousness, nor any act that has a sexual
overtone or color within the university premises or during any official activities of the
university.
13.I will neither do assault, nor physical, electronic, or verbal abuse, nor intimidate, threat,
harass, coerce, nor do other conduct that threaten or endanger the health, safety, and/or
taint the moral and/or professional standing of any personnel, student, or visitor within the
university or during any official activities of the university or any act amounting to a crime.
14.I understand that if I will be convicted of any crime or offense where the imposable
penalty is at least one (1) year imprisonment, I will be dismissed from the university.
15.I understand that if I will willfully and habitually disregard the established policies and
regulations, and commit three light/minor offenses, it serves as ground for dismissal.
16.I will not commit any gross act of disrespect, in word or in deed, which tends to put any
member of the MMSU family in a bad image.
17.I will not maliciously disseminate false reports, threats of fire, explosion or another
emergency.
18.I will neither commit nor participate to malversate student funds
19.I will not mock a fellow student with a disability (RA 9442).
20.I will not inflict any physical or psychological harm, or cyberbully anyone.
21.I will not hack MMSU websites or webpage or students’ organizational pages, and
disclose confidential information.

22. I will not make any unwanted and uninvited sexual actions or remarks against any
person regardless of the motive for committing such action or remarks.
23.I will not openly and publicly display arrogance and disrespect school authorities and
other personnel.
24.I will not disrupt my class or that of others by shouting, whistling, running, raucous
unrestrained laughter and other similar disturbances.
25.I will not cause and/or participate in verbal tussles and other minor disturbances within
the university premises.
26.I will not use another's ID card or lend my ID card to another.
27.I will not bring or possess pornographic materials.
28.I will not share personal information of fellow students without the latter's consent. (RA
10173 Data Privacy Act).
29.I will not bring cigarettes or e-cigarettes or smoke within the university premises
30.I will abide with the university dress code policy.
31.I will always show cooperation in following security protocols
