I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate their multiliteracies and
communicative competence in evaluating Afro-Asian
literature (poetry and prose) for clarity of meaning, purpose,
and target audience as a foundation for publishing original
literary texts that reflect their expanding cultural identity.
B. Performance Standard The learners analyze the style, form, and features of Afro-
Asian literature (poetry and prose); evaluate literary texts
for clarity of meaning, purpose, and target audience; and
compose and publish an original multimodal literary text
(poem or prose) that represents their meaning, purpose,
and target audience, and reflects their expanding cultural
identity.
C. Learning Competencies EN8LIT-I-1 Analyze literary texts as expressions of
/Objectives. Write the LC individual or communal values within: structural context
code for each At the end of the lesson, the students are expected
to:
1. Define two types of conflict in a literary text;
2. Classify which type of conflict is described in a situation;
3. Reflect on the conflicts that they have encountered in
their life and how they overcome it by writing a three (3) to
five (5) sentence paragraph.

teacher will give the cabbage paper to the first student.
When the music plays, the student will pass the cabbage to
the next person. When the music stops, the person holding
the cabbage will peel it, read and answer the question
written on it.

What are the two types of conflict?
Possible answers:
 Character vs. character - Struggles against other
people. The character may have a physical or verbal
argument, or an emotional conflict.
 Character vs. self - Struggles with himself or herself.
He or she may be struggling to make right decision,
or struggling with an opinion or idea, or something in
his or her mind that causes the character emotional
pain or distress.

D. Discussing new concepts The teacher will group the students into five (5). Each group
and practicing new skills #1 will be given situations and they are going to classify if the

self conflict. Students’ score will be reflected in the
