3. Job Set-Up

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIER(S) specified by the operator's instructions
and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gears
Ref. MP A350-A-32-XX-XX-01ZZZ-397Z-A.
(3) Make sure that the CHOCK - WHEEL(S) are in position.
(4) In the cockpit:
(a) On the main instrument panel, on the L/G section of panel 312VM:
1 Make sure that the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
2 Install the DEVICE,SAFETY-LANDING GEAR CONTROL LEVER
(98L32301002000) on the landing-gear control lever.
3 Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position adjacent to the landing-gear control lever
to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
4 Put a warning notice in position adjacent to the BRAKE FAN pushbutton switch to
tell persons not to operate the brake fans.
(b) On the center pedestal, on panel 115VM:
- Make sure that the L/G GRVTY EXTN switch is in the OFF position and safetied.
- Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the PARK BRK
selector switch.
(c) On panels 411VU and 412VU, put warning notices in position to tell persons not to
operate the brake pedals.

A. Removal of the MLG Brake Fan
(1) Unfold the tab washers (2).
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS. THIS IS TO
PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE THREADS IN THE SHROUD SUPPORT.
(2) Remove the bolts (3).
(3) Remove the tab washers (2) and discard them.
(4) Remove the debris guard (4) from the shroud (18).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE.
DISCARD LOOSE OR USED LOCKWIRE IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE OR USED
LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(5) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nut (8) and the brake fan (1) and discard it.
(6) Remove the nut (8) with the DISASSY TOOL-FAN (4612028501) or the DISASSEMBLY FAN
(4612028506) (5) as follows:
(a) Put the forked part of the DISASSY TOOL-FAN (4612028501) or the DISASSEMBLY FAN
(4612028506) (5) on the splines (6) of the tacho drive shaft (24). Then, move the outer
part of the DISASSY TOOL-FAN (4612028501) or the DISASSEMBLY FAN (4612028506)
(5) to the nut (8).
(b) Turn the outer part of the DISASSY TOOL-FAN (4612028501) or the DISASSEMBLY
FAN (4612028506) (5) to remove the nut (8).
(7) Remove the washer (9).
(8) Carefully remove the brake fan (1) from the motor shaft (21).
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE AND INSTALL THE SHROUD ASSEMBLY.
THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR AND TO THE
RUBBER SEAL OF THE SHROUD AROUND THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR.
(9) If necessary, remove the shroud (18) and shroud support (10) as follows:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES EACH TIME YOU CUT
LOCKWIRE. DISCARD LOOSE OR USED LOCKWIRE IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE
OR USED LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the captive screws (13) and discard it.

(b) Loosen the captive screws (13) together with the captive washers (12).
(c) Fold the antenna support (11).
(d) Loosen the V-band clamp-bolt mechanism (20).
(e) Remove the V-band clamp (16).
(f) Remove the shroud (18) together with the shroud seal (17).
(g) Remove the shroud support (10) together with the MLG Rotating Interface Unit (RIU) (19).
