Planning a career path is not easy at all. Although their own preference for a job really
matters, researchers have pointed out some other factors that may influence teenaged
students’ career choice.
Parents’ expectations tend to have the strongest impact on their children’s decision-
making, especially when they are young. For example, parents who work in the
business sector often expect their children to pursue commerce and business.
Sometimes, conflicts occur because children resist choosing the path that their parents
want. Peer persuasion is another influential factor. Teenagers are impressionable, so
they may find a career attractive because most of their friends do so. Though the most
popular jobs sound cool, students might not do them well in the future if they are not
passionate about them. Career advice that students find on the Internet may also affect
their choice. However, not all online advice is practical and helpful. Finally, cost is the
basic criterion for many students when planning their career path. Some choose to
study and work abroad while others select a career that is more affordable.
The factors above may affect students’ future careers both positively and negatively.
Since career planning is essential for a rewarding working life, it is vital that students
receive a proper orientation from trustworthy sources.

Twenty years ago, people tried to leave the suburbs for cities but nowadays many
people are reluctant to make such a move. They say that compared to suburban areas, city
life has many drawbacks.
The high cost of living is the first disadvantage. The bigger the city is, the higher the
living cost is. Accommodation and petrol are expensive. Food and drinks are also pricey.
Apart from that, city people seem to suffer from more , noise and air pollution. The densely
populated neighborhoods, busy traffic, and big construction sites make cities noisy and
dusty. These are harmful to people’s health, such as increasing their stress levels, disturbing
their sleep and making them suffer from breathing problems.
Lack of space is another drawback of city life. House prices are high in the city,
so people tend to live in smaller houses or in apartment blocks. Many cities lack spaces
for outdoor activities; therefore, teenagers often hang out at shopping malls or in
entertainment complexes instead of doing sports outdoors.
The cities' authorities are trying to overcome these problems. However, they still
have a long way to go before they can reduce living costs and pollution, and increase
green space to make all cities in the world more liveable places.

Protecting the environment is very important for our planet. We need to take care of
nature to keep the Earth clean and healthy. There are many simple things we can do to
help the environment. For example, we can recycle paper, plastic, and glass. Recycling
helps to reduce waste and save resources. Another way to protect the environment is to
save water. We should turn off the tap when brushing our teeth and take shorter
showers. Also, using less electricity can help. Turning off lights when we do not need
them and using energy-efficient bulbs can make a big difference.
In addition, planting trees is also very good for the environment. Trees clean the air and
provide homes for animals. They also help to keep the climate stable. We can all plant
a tree in our garden or join a community tree-planting event. Using public transport,
walking, or riding a bike instead of driving a car helps reduce pollution. Cars produce a
lot of harmful gases that pollute the air. By choosing other ways to travel, we can keep
the air clean and reduce our carbon footprint. Everyone can help protect the
environment. By making small changes in our daily lives, we can make a big difference
for our planet.

Cities are often seen as places of opportunity, but there are also some major
drawbacks of living in a big city. In my opinion, governments could do much more to
improve city life for the average inhabitant.
The main problem for anyone who hopes to move to a large city is that the cost of
living is likely to be much higher than it is in a small town or village. Inhabitants of
cities have to pay higher prices for housing, transport, and even food. Another issue is
that urban areas tend to suffer from social problems such as high crime and poverty
rates in comparison with rural areas. Moreover, the air quality in cities is often poor,
due to pollution from traffic, and the streets and public transport systems are usually
overcrowded. As a result, city life can be unhealthy and stressful. However, there are
various steps that governments could take to solve these problems. Firstly, they could
invest money in the building of affordable or social housing to reduce the cost of living.
Secondly, authorities have the power to ban vehicles from city centers and promote the
use of cleaner public transport. A third option would be to develop provincial towns and
rural areas, by moving industries and jobs to those regions, in order to reduce the
pressure on major cities. In conclusion, governments could certainly implement a range
of measures to improve the quality of life for all city residents.

Homestay is a type of tourism where travellers stay with local families in their
homes. It offers both benefits and drawbacks.
One benefit of homestay is the opportunity to experience local culture firsthand.
Travellers can learn about traditional customs, taste authentic homemade food, and
engage in daily activities with the host family. It provides a deeper understanding of the
local way of life.
Another advantage is the chance to establish connections and make new friends. Staying
with a host family allows for personal interactions and cultural exchange, fostering
cross-cultural understanding and friendship.
However, there are also some drawbacks to consider. One downside is the
potential lack of privacy. Sharing living spaces with the host family means less personal
space and limited privacy compared to staying in a hotel. Communication may also be a
challenge if there are language barriers. It can be difficult to fully communicate and
express needs and preferences without a common language. Additionally, homestays
may have different levels of comfort and amenities compared to hotels. Facilities may
be basic, and travellers need to adapt to the host family's lifestyle and routines.
In conclusion, homestay tourism offers unique cultural experiences and the
chance to connect with locals. While there may be challenges such as privacy and
communication, it can be a rewarding way to immerse oneself in the local community
and create lasting memories.

course to pursue. In today's diverse world, this choice is not easy for both teenagers and
their parents. In the past, this decision was simpler because there were fewer options in
terms of learning areas. Additionally, there were only a few distinct professional careers
to consider, such as doctors, engineers, accountants, nurses, and teachers. Most higher
education paths usually led to financial success, and the cost of education was not as
high.
However, the world we live in today is completely different from what was described
earlier. The job market is constantly changing due to innovative technology and
increased competition. Meanwhile, many teenagers struggle to identify their own
interests and passions. To assist them in making these decisions, there are various well-
organised career talks and student counselling workshops available. These resources
aim to guide and support teenagers in selecting the right course for themselves.
Additionally, psychological tests are often used. Various tools such as surveys,
