Read the following instructions carefully and follow them:
1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQ’s) and questions no. 19 and
20 are Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02
marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions,
carrying 05 marks each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study based questions carrying 4 marks
each with sub parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 questions of section A,
2 Questions of section B and 2 Questions of section C has been provided. An internal choice has

31 Meena went to a bank to withdraw ₹2000. She asked the cashier to give her ₹50 3

₹100 she received.
SECTION D
32 A) To fill a swimming pool two pipes are to be used. If the pipe of larger 5
diameter is used for 4 hours and the pipe of smaller diameter for 9 hours,
only half the pool can be filled. Find, how long it would take for each pipe to
fill the pool separately, if the pipe of smaller diameter takes 10 hours more
than the pipe of larger diameter to fill the pool.

B) A rectangular park is to be designed whose breadth is 3 m less than its
length. Its area is to be 4 square metres more than the area of a park that
has already been made in the shape of an isosceles triangle with its base as
the breadth of the rectangular park and of altitude 12 m. Find the length
and breadth of the rectangular park.
33 The diagonals of a quadrilateral ABCD intersect each other at the point O such 5
that AO/BO=CO/DO∙ Show that ABCD is a trapezium.
34 A chord of a circle of the radius 12 cm subtends an angle of 120° at the centre. Find 5
the area of the corresponding segment of the circle. (Use π = 3.14 and √3 = 1.73).
35 A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing at the top of the 5
tower observes a car at an angle of depression of 30°, which is approaching the
foot of the tower with a uniform speed. Six seconds later, the angle of depression
of the car is found to be 60°. Find the time taken by the car to reach the foot of the
tower from this point.

As observed from the top of a 75 m high lighthouse from the sea-level, the angles
of depression of two ships are 30° and 45°. If one ship is exactly behind the other
on the same side of the lighthouse, find the distance between the two ships.
