Extraction, Characterisation and Antimicrobial
Activity of Exopolysaccharides from Bacillus spp.
Produced in Different Media : A Comparative Study
2022 CST, Mumbai, India
Investigated the effect of production of exopolysaccharides secreted
by Bacillus species in different media and checked its anti microbial
activity on E.coli, S.aurues and Pseudomonas species.
• EPS from basal and malt media, rich in protein as confirmed by the
Folin–Lowry method, exhibited antimicrobial activity, particularly
against S. aureus, aligning with findings by Petrova et al. Notably,
EPS from basal media showed phenolic O-H peaks at 3600 cm⁻¹,
potentially contributing to its modest activity against gram-positive
bacteria.
In vitro Cytotoxic Effect of Piperine Isolated from
Piper nigrum fruits on Different Cancer Cell Lines
2022 CST, Mumbai, India
Extracted piperine from piper nigrum and investigated its effect on
various cell lines.
• Piperine showed a statistically significant, dose-dependent
reduction in cell viability in both MCF-7 and MDA-MB 231 breast
cancer cell lines (F > F₍critical₎, p < 0.05). However, no significant
difference in response was observed between the two cell lines
across concentrations (F < F₍critical₎, p > 0.05).
NATURAL EXTRACT BASED DERMACEUTICAL
PRODUCTS AN ENDEAVOUR TO SAVE CORAL REEFS

conducted a survey to determine consumers preferences' of skincare
products along with research to determine nin harmful products for the
coral reefs in sunscreen and other skincare products.
