The Librarian
He/she is responsible for the development and enrichment of the library and organization of
materials for the effective use and implementation of policies, functions, and procedures in
the library.
The Librarian directly reports to the principal and assumes the following responsibilities:
1. Plans and develops systems and procedures for the selection, acquisition, cataloging
and other technical processing of books and other learning materials;
2. Prepares book budget proposal, and orders of books and other instructional
materials;
3. Select books and other materials needed, considering requests from faculty after
checking these against existing records of collection;
4. Maintains records of books expenses and other learning materials;
5. Catalogs and classifies books and other materials employing the Catalog Plus
Program and supervises the mechanical preparation activities;
6. Produces bibliographical list of newly processed books for distribution to faculty,
offices and for record keeping;
7. Updates the On-Line Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system;
8. Prepares reports of the yearly book acquisitions and book expenses;
9. Keeps a record of the list of books to support the curriculum in each course offering
for CHED requirement;
10. Evaluates collections and prepares inventory reports;
11. Supervises the inventory of collection, equipment and facilities of the reference and
circulation areas;
12. Updates the bulletin board and book display periodically; and
13. Coordinates with faculty and arranges library research class schedules.
