correct answer A, B, C or D on your answer sheet.
A month ago I had no idea that on a Saturday afternoon in November
I'd be hanging 30 metres above the ground and enjoying it. Now I looked
down at the river far below me, and realised why people love rock-climbing.
My friend Matt and I had arrived at the Activity Centre on Friday
evening. The accommodation wasn't wonderful, but we had everything we
needed (beds, blankets, food), and we were pleased to be out of the city and
in the fresh air.
On Saturday morning we met the other ten members of our group.
Cameron had come along with two friends, Kevin and Simon, while sisters
Carole and Lynn had come with Amanda. We had come from various places
and none of us knew the area.
We knew we were going to spend the weekend outdoors, but none of
us was sure exactly how. Half of us spent the morning caving while the
others went rock-climbing and then we changed at lunchtime. Matt and I
went to the caves first. Climbing out was harder than going in, but after a
good deal of pushing, we were out at last — covered in mud but pleased and
excited by what we'd done.

WRITING TEST
Time allowed: 45 minutes
==========================================================
PART 1:
CODE 03:
You are Ann. Write a letter to your penfriend, Vivian in about 120 words to tell
him/ her about a website you often visit, including information about:
- How you found it;
- What it is about;
- How often you visit it;
And explain why you often visit it.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Dear Vivian,
How are you these days? I am glad to receive your letter, enquiring (asking) me
about what website I like. Well, I normally spend one or two hours on the internet
to read the news. One day, an advert appeared on my screen. It was about Lazada
shopping online. I clicked on it and I was referred to the website where I could
find almost everything, from a pin to an elephant. The website is so attractive that
I now visit it almost everyday, whenever I have free time. One of the advantages
of shopping online on this website is that it is time and energy saving. Instead of
going out, you just sit before the screen and click on the items you want. The
goods you want to buy will arrive in a few days. Just pay for it, including the
postage, and get it.
If you like to try it, access lazada.com. Hope to see you soon.
Sincerely yours
Ann

PART 2: Write an about 150-word essay to express your opinions on the
following question:
Do you prefer to live in a nuclear family or an extended family ?
Different people may have different tastes for the type of family
they would like to live in, whether it is a nuclear family that contains only
parents and children or an extended family that includes more than two
generations, maybe grandparents and great-grandparents, in addition to
parents and children. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For me, I prefer to live in a nuclear family.
Firstly, living in a nuclear family provides you with more privacy
than in the other one. You are watched by fewer people, just by your parents.
Secondly, this kind of family can avoid generation gaps which are
sometimes so intense (căn thẳng) that it threatens to harm the relationship
between members.
Thirdly, the fewer the number of people you have in the house, the
less likely conflict may occur.
However, a nuclear family also has some disadvantages such as
absence of the sense of belonging, lack of care when parents are away.
Despite all these, the advantages of a nuclear family still outweigh its
limitations.
