Greetings of peace!
The Grade 12 ABM learners are currently writing research titled “Time
Management and Academic Performance of Grade 10 Learners in Public
Secondary School” which aims to investigate the relationship of time
management on the academic performance of grade 10 learners at Igburi
National High School for School Year 2024-2025.
Correspondingly, the respondents shall be 98 randomly selected grade 10
learners in a public secondary school in Antique. In this regard, you are
chosen to be one of these respondents. I am requesting your valuable time in
responding to this questionnaire as honestly and objectively as you can.
Please respond according to what you believe and do. Your willingness to
participate will significantly expedite the data collection process and the
completion of our research.
Rest assured that this study will adhere to the Data Privacy Act of 2012
ensuring the anonymity of the school and the teachers as well as the
confidentiality of the data gathered.

This means that any information which can lead to your identity as the
participant will not be indicated in the final report. The gathered data will only
be accessible to me as the researcher and will be used solely for this study.

Research Title: Time Management and Academic Performance of Grade 10
Learners in Public Secondary School.

Introduction. You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by


Sharlene D. Laquip et al. because you fit the inclusion criteria as
respondents of her study. Your participation is completely voluntary. Please
take time to read the information in this consent form, and ask questions
about anything you do not understand, before deciding to participate. You
may also decide to discuss your participation with your family or friends. If you
decide to participate, you will be asked to sign this form. You will be given a
copy of this form upon your request.

Purpose of the Research. The main purpose of the study is to investigate


the relationship of time management and academic performance of grade 10
learners at Igburi National High School for School Year 2024-2025.

Study Procedure. If you volunteer to participate in this study, you will be


oriented on how to proceed and be asked to complete the survey
questionnaire which you can finish in less than 30 minutes. Orientation is also
necessary for those who will be part of the interview.

Potential Risks and Discomfort. You may feel discomfort when answering
the survey questionnaire. You may opt not to answer questions that make you
feel any psychological or emotional distress or can withdraw as a participant
in the study if you feel that you are not safe because of the situation and
cannot discuss/provide the information that is asked of you. The researcher
values your participation and will place your welfare as their highest priority
during the study.

Potential Benefits to the Participants and/or Society. This study on DepEd


Activity and Learners’ holistic development has significant value to the locale
and the scientific body of knowledge. First, through this study, the findings
may serve as a basis for formulating proposed training for the continuous
improvement of Grade 10 learners for Time Management Skills. In terms of its
value to the scientific body of knowledge, this may also provide additional
literature on the scarcity of findings, especially among learners and teachers
in the Department of
Education.

Justice: Justice in research is manifested in the objective selection of the


participants, reimbursements for the assistance of the enumerators in the
collection, and the tokens of appreciation for the participants for sparing their
time to participate in the study. Regarding the selection of the participants,
they were objectively chosen using stratified random sampling and the
fishbowl technique. Meanwhile, the enumerators shall be reimbursed for their
expenses while administering the survey questionnaire. Lastly, the
participants shall be given tokens as appreciation for their time and efforts in
participating.

Privacy and Confidentiality. To ensure the privacy of this research, the


identity of the participants and their locale shall not be disclosed. Their
anonymity is highly considered, and they can optionally indicate their names
in the questionnaire. In terms of confidentiality, all soft and printed data shall
be kept, stored, and protected properly in adherence to the Data Privacy Act
of 2012. These will only be made accessible to the researcher, adviser,
evaluators, and statistician to ensure the ethical soundness of these files. In
the given period, all soft data shall be erased, while the hard files shall be
manually shredded.

Participation and Withdraw from the Research. Your participation is


voluntary. You have the right to withdraw if you feel uncomfortable in the
process of gathering information from you. You are not waiving any legal
claims, rights, or remedies because you participate in the study. Your refusal
to participate will not involve penalty or loss of benefits to which you are
otherwise entitled.
