ABOUT SUNBEAM COLLEGE FOR WOMEN

Sunbeam College for Women, located in Bhagwanpur, Varanasi, is a distinguished

Post Graduate Autonomous College with an esteemed NAAC Grade "A" accreditation.
Established in 2000, the college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth in
Varanasi. Its foundation was laid to fulfill the crucial need for an English medium
college exclusively for girls in the region. The college's strategic location, merely 7.5
km from Varanasi Cantt. Station, offers convenience to its students. The institution is
dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that stimulates creativity and
intellectual growth among its students while also fostering a deep understanding and
appreciation of India's rich cultural heritage. With a focus on academic excellence,
intellectual development, and cultural enrichment, Sunbeam College for Women

ABOUT KBSAA

KOLKATA BIDHANNAGAR SOCIETY FOR ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT

(hereinafter referred to as the ‘KBSAA’) established in the year 2022 as a registered
Society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act (West Bengal Act XXVI) of
1961 bearing Registration No. S0025851 of 2021-2022.
KBSAA is a Non-Profit seeking Society for Promotion and Advancement of Learning
and Research in the field of Social Sciences and other Allied Areas.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

In a world marked by resource scarcity, climate change, technological disruption,

and widening social disparities, the need to rethink traditional business paradigms
has become imperative. The theme “Sustainable Business Models: Bridging Profit,
Purpose, and Planet” reflects the growing global consensus that the future of business
lies not only in financial profitability but also in generating lasting value for people
and the planet.
Historically, business success was measured by shareholder returns and
short-term financial gains. However, the 21st century demands a transformative shift
from profit-centric strategies to purpose- driven models that ensure long-term
sustainability.
Stakeholders today including customers, investors, employees, and regulators are
increasingly calling for transparency, accountability, ethical practices, and
environmental stewardship. This evolution is compelling enterprises to embed
sustainability at the core of their business models, rather than treating it as a
peripheral initiative.
The core objective of this conference is to explore innovative, resilient, and inclusive
business models that integrate financial performance with social and environmental
responsibility. As global enterprises grapple with stakeholder capitalism, ESG
(Environmental, Social, and Governance) mandates, and circular economy models,
this platform offers a unique opportunity to examine frameworks that align business
success with societal well-being. The conference will feature plenary sessions, panel

INVITATION
Sunbeam College for Women, Bhagwanpur, Varanasi is proud to host a one-day
International Conference on “Sustainable Business Models: Bridging Profit, Purpose,
and Planet”.
This conference theme invites scholars, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs,
policymakers, and development practitioners to engage in meaningful dialogues and
knowledge-sharing around new-age business models. It encourages exploration into
how companies can transition from linear to circular value chains, align with
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and adopt Environmental, Social, and
Governance (ESG) criteria for strategic decision-making. It also examines the role of
digital transformation, innovation, and ethical leadership in designing resilient
enterprises that thrive amidst uncertainty.
Case studies of purpose-driven businesses across sectors whether large corporations
integrating sustainability into their governance structures, or social enterprises
targeting grassroots impact will form a critical part of this discourse. The conference
seeks to understand how such models can scale, replicate, and influence mainstream
business behavior across geographies.
Ultimately, the theme promotes a shift from isolated CSR efforts to holistic
sustainability embedded in the DNA of business operations. It calls for a collaborative
effort among academia, industry, and civil society to design and implement
frameworks where businesses serve as a force for good, aligning profit motives with
planetary and societal imperatives.
By focusing on “Bridging Profit and Purpose,” the conference envisions a future
where businesses are not just economic entities, but proactive agents of positive
change capable of fostering innovation, equity, and environmental stewardship for
