ASABE SAFETY COLOR CODE

4.1 Safety Red represents the key word “DANGER” or “STOP.” It shall identify areas or items of danger and
emergency.

4.2 Safety Orange represents the key word “WARNING”. It shall designate hazardous parts of a machine or energized
equipment.

4.3 Safety Yellow represents the key word “ .” Solid yellow, and black stripes, or yellow and black checkers
shall be used for color visibility enhancement and emphasis.

4.4 Safety Green represents the key word “SAFETY.” This safety color designates emergency egress and the location of
first-aid equipment.

4.5 Safety Blue represents the key words “SAFETY INFORMATION.” This safety color is used on informational
markings and safety bulletin boards.

4.6 Safety Magenta or Black. The color of the radiation symbol is Safety Magenta or Black presented on a fluorescent
background.
4.7 Safety Gray may be used for floor or work areas around . Another use of Safety. Gray may
be for metal work bench tops.

4.8 Safety Black, Safety White, or combination of Safety Black with Safety White, shall designate traffic and
housekeeping areas.
