Egypt and Greece. The Olympic Games, which began in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece, featured
running events and other athletic competitions. Over time, athletics evolved into a structured sport
with various events and global competitions.

Athletics comprises different types of events:
- Track Events: Includes sprints (100m, 200m, 400m), middle-distance (800m, 1500m),
long-distance (5000m, 10000m), hurdles, and relays.
