Throughfeed Blast Cleaning Machine DT

Throughfeed Blast
Cleaning Machine DT

Automatic, continuous, and dust-free

blast cleaning
Contrary to conventional drum-type through-
feed machines, the DT is equipped with a
polygon-shaped trough. The blast wheels are

positioned in longitudinal axis directly above
the flow of castings.
The advantages of this unique design are:
• Continuous blast cleaning of mixed castings
including runners and risers, without any
manual operation
• Polygon-shaped trough ensures full exposure
of all surfaces to the blast streams and gentle
tumbling of castings
• Distribution of the castings over a relatively
long blast cleaning zone
• Position of the blast wheels directly above
the flow of castings ensures optimum utili-
zation of abrasive energy
• No moving plant components within the
blasting zone, no jamming of workpieces
• Controlled throughput of castings
• High capacity for up to 35 t/h of parts
weighing up to 150 kg each
• Easy integration of the DT into existing
production lines

of the castings
The frequency of the rocking motion of the
trough and the abrasive supply to the blast
wheel are controlled depending on the flow
rate and volume of castings. This ensures
optimum results even when the flow rate
is irregular. The high-power abrasive streams
aimed at the castings from above reach and
thorougly clean all surfaces and interior
passages (see left figure).
After passing through the blasting zone,
the castings enter the section, where, as the
trough continues its rocking and gentle
tumbling of the castings, all remnants of
abrasive are carefully removed from the
cavities and inter nal passages of the
castings.
