Workshop: Basic PowerPoint Utilities and Tools

This workshop will introduce students to the essential tools and functionalities of PowerPoint. By
mastering these, students will be able to create structured and visually appealing presentations.

1. PPT Orientation

Objective: Familiarize students with the PowerPoint interface and navigation.

● Ribbon Overview:
The Ribbon is the command center in PowerPoint. It is divided into tabs such as Home,
Insert, Design, and Slide Show. Each tab contains relevant tools and commands.
● Slides Pane:
Located on the left, it provides a thumbnail view of all slides, making it easy to navigate
and rearrange them.
● Notes Section:
Found below the slide, this section allows the presenter to add notes that won’t be
visible to the audience during the presentation.
● PowerPoint Views:
○ Normal View: The default view for slide editing.
○ Slide Sorter View: Displays all slides in thumbnail form for easy reordering.
○ Reading View: Allows you to view the presentation as a slide show without
switching to full screen.
○ Slide Show View: Runs the presentation in full-screen mode for audience
viewing.

2. Slide Layouts

Objective: Learn how to structure slides effectively using different layouts.

● Default Layouts:
