DENGUE FEVER ANTIBODY, IgG, SERUM

(ELISA)

DENGUE FEVER ANTIBODY, IgG, SERUM

Dengue Antibody, IgG 0.86 Inde <0.8
x 0

Interpretation:

| Result(Ratio) | Remarks |
|---------------|--------------------------------|
| < 0.8 | Negative |
|---------------|--------------------------------|
| 0.8 - <1.1 | Equivocal |
|---------------|--------------------------------|
| ≥1.1 | Positive |

Note:
1. Positive result indicates the presence of Dengue-specific IgG antibodies suggesting past
infection with Dengue virus, secondary infection in a currently symptomatic individual.
2. Negative result indicates the absence of Dengue -specific IgG antibodies suggesting no
prior exposure or immunity.
3. False positive can arise from cross-reactivity with infections such as Leptospira, Hepatitis
A, Influenza A and B, Salmonella Typhi, Epstein-Barr virus, or other flaviviruses (e.g.,
Japanese encephalitis and West Nile virus), as well as from non-specific immune
responses like those seen in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
4. False-negative results may occur if the test is performed too early in the course of
infection or in individuals with weakened immune systems.
5. Test results should always be interpreted alongside clinical symptoms, patient history,
and additional laboratory findings.
