WHO IS KRISHNA ?

 Krishna is the Supreme Lord, or God.

 He has unlimited power, wealth,

beauty, wisdom. Thus, no one is greater
than Him.

 Since Krishna is the source of all living

beings, He is also the Supreme Father.

 He is the creator of this whole

universe.
WHY SHOULD WE CHANT HARE KRISHNA
MAHAMANTRA ?

 When we serve Lord Krishna by

chanting Hare Krishna
Mahamantra,
1. Lord Krishna sits in our heart
and gives us lot of Joy and
happiness, removes all the fears.
2.Krishna helps us
overcome the
obstacles and our
performance becomes
better in every aspect.
O Krishna,
please
forgive me !!

3.When we
chant Hare
Krishna
mahamantra,
Krishna forgives
all our mistakes
and sins.
4. He blesses
us by
liberating us
from our sins,
and also by
ending the
cycle of birth
and death.
How a dog-eater is even better than a brahmin ?

 aho bata śva-paco ‘to garīyān

yaj-jihvāgre vartate nāma tubhyam
tepus tapas te juhuvuḥ sasnur āryā
brahmānūcur nāma gṛṇanti ye te॥ Srimad Bhagavatam 3.33.7 ॥
Oh, how glorious are they whose tongues are chanting
Your holy name! Even if born in the families of dog-eaters,
such persons are worshipable. Persons who chant the holy
name of Your Lordship must have executed all kinds of
austerities and fire sacrifices and achieved all the good
manners of the Āryans. To be chanting the holy name of
Your Lordship, they must have bathed at holy places of
pilgrimage, studied the Vedas and fulfilled everything
required.
Stories of Glories of Hare Krishna mantra
: Wild Boar and a Bad man

 A man had got ill after eating non

vegetarian food. His had severe
stomachache and ran here and there
and reached in a jungle.
A wild boar attacked
the poor man.
Dying, the man cried,
“Harama Harama
!”, means “cursed”.
In this word, the
syllables of the holy
name,“Rama”, are
contained.
Thus, the man
unintentionally
chanted the holy
name and
attained
liberation.
Moral of the story:

This is the result of

chanting the holy name
unconsciously, just for
one time.

And if we chant Hare

Krishna with interest,
how much benefit we
can gain ?
Gadadhar Das Goswami and Kazi :
Gadadhar das goswami was a
chief preacher in Bengal. One day
he started dancing madly and
singing Hare Krishna mantra in
front of Kazi’s mansion, who was
a very proudy man.
He came out of his house angrily,
but seeing the attractive face of
Gadadhar Das, he immediately
became peaceful. Gadadhar
lovingly hugged Kazi, and said,
“why don’t you chant this sweet
name of Hari ?”
"Tomorrow I shall chant the
name of Hari," replied the
Kazi.This way Kazi
unknowingly chanted Hari
and Gadadhara was with
happiness. He said, "Why
tomorrow? You have already
chanted today. And this
powerful name of Hari will
destroy your sins and
mistakes and purify you."
Moral of the Story :

Krishna is so kind that even if

we chant Hare Krishna
mahamantra by some force, or
unwantedly, still Krishna
blesses us !!
Therefore, even if we do not
want, still we should chant :
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram
Ram Hare Hare !!
Pastime of Jagai and Madhai :
There were two brothers, Jagai and
Madhai, who became Drunkards,
Meat-eaters and Dacoits because of
bad association.
Lord Nityanand and Haridas thakur
requested them to chant Hare
Krishna, but Madhai got very angry
and threw a glass bottle on Lord
Nityanand, and he started bleeding.
Nityananda smiled and said,‘what
you have done to Me, I do not mind
but what you are doing to your life
breaks My heart. Please take the
names of Krishna’.
Madhai went to attack Nityananda
again, but Jagai his brother stopped
him and said,‘Can’t you see the
compassion and love of the saint?
Why are you hurting Him’?
This news reached Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu and he became very
angry on Jagai-Madhai, and went to
kill them. He took his chakra to kill
them, Lord Nityanand stopped him
saying, O Lord ! It’s our mission to
correct these people and not to kill
them.
Mahaprabhu forgave them,
ordered them to stop wrong
activities and chant Hare
Krishna Mahamantra.
Afterwards both Jagai and
Madhai became great
devotees of Lord Krishna
and enjoyed chanting.
Lessons learnt from the story :
1. Lord Nityanand even after being
beaten, was still showing kindness to
Jagai and Madhai. Such is a true
devotee of Lord Krishna, who is
always kind to others. So we must
always be kind to others.
2. Lord Chaitanya came immediately to
protect his dear devotee, Lord
Nityanand . So we must serve Krishna
and chant mahamantra, then
Krishna will always protect us in bad
situations.
3. Lord is so kind that he even forgives
bad people like Jagai –Madhai.
