I am writing to express my interest in the English teaching position at JH Cerilles
State College, as advertised. As a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in English
Education from JH Cerilles State College, I am eager to begin my teaching career and
contribute to creating an engaging, supportive, and student-centered learning
environment.
During my academic journey, I have completed a comprehensive teaching practicum
at JH Cerilles State College - High School Department, where I taught English
literature and grammar to Grade 8 students under the supervision of a mentor teacher.
This experience sharpened my classroom management skills, lesson planning
abilities, and confidence in leading discussions and activities that support language
development. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience through internships and
volunteer work, including tutoring at my university’s writing center and teaching
English to non-native speakers in community programs.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating a welcoming space where students feel
encouraged to express themselves, think critically, and grow both academically and
personally. I believe in using varied instructional strategies—including interactive
activities, digital tools, and differentiated instruction—to meet the diverse needs of
learners.
