08. Admiralty Sailing Direction (ASD):
Admiralty sailing directions are published in 74 volumes, providing the world-wide coverage.
Known as Pilot Book & complementary of charts.
Provided valuable information such as-general information about any area, knowledge of local regulations,
navigational hazards, climatic conditions, anchorage, port facilities, harbor approaches etc.
Diagrammatic key showing boundaries of geographical areas covered by different volumes, which found in
Admiralty Chart Catalogue.
Update: Notices to mariners (weekly) section-IV.
New Edition:
ASD are updated by a process of Continuous Revision.
Republished 3 yearly (appx) intervals.
Some volume (indicated in chart catalogue) republished 5 yearly (appx) intervals.
Each successive publication supersedes the previous one.
