STATE

 Tripura becomes 3rd fully literated state under ULLAS

 Tripura was declared fully literate under the ULLAS - Nav Bharat
Saaksharta Karyakram (New India Literacy Programme), a centrally
sponsored scheme implemented from 2022 to 2027, after Mizoram
and Gao.
 The scheme, aligned with NEP 2020 targets adults (age 15 years and
above) who can’t go to school.
 Noted: Recently the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh has been
declared 1st UT to achieve Full Functional Literacy under the ULLAS
- Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram after having achieved over 97%
literacy.

 Centre’s new regulations for jobs and domicile in Ladakh

 Since the abrogation of article 370, demands have been raised


including Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
 The Centre has notified a series of regulation of Ladakh’s land, jobs
and cultural preservation, aimed at addressing concerns raised by the
civil society in Ladakh over past five years.

 Assam and Meghalaya Jont Hydropower Project Initiative

 The govt of Assam and Meghalaya have recently announced a


collaborative initiative to establish a 55 megawatt hydropower and
irrigation project after consultation with local people.
 This development is part of a broader effort to address urban flooding
in Guwahati and resolve a longsranding boundary dispute between the
two states.
