The Career Guidance and Training & Placement Cell conducted a one-day program on
"Transition from Job Seekers to Job Creators" for B.Tech first-year students. The session was
led by Mr. Prapun Kumar Illapani, Founder of Metal ntrospec. He emphasized that today’s
youth should aspire to become job creators rather than job seekers. He also stressed that both
parents and teachers share the responsibility of nurturing children, and that parents should be
aware of their children's aspirations and needs. It has been a common notion among Indians
to seek government jobs due to the job security they offer, or to move into corporate roles.
However, this mindset is gradually changing with time. It is not feasible for any government
to create jobs at the scale required to accommodate both the current working population and
the upcoming generations. Therefore, the next viable and sustainable option is to encourage
individuals to become job creators. With rapid technological advancement and a vast market,
the Indian economy has become a center of global attention and a promising space for
investors. It is a positive sign that today’s youth are increasingly interested in
entrepreneurship. Last year alone, more than 1,200 new startups were launched, bringing the
total to over 7,200. These startups experienced a 108% increase in funding and created over
40,000 new direct jobs, along with a threefold increase in indirect job opportunities. Despite
these positive trends, challenges remain. There has been a noticeable decline in seed-stage
funding, indicating that many innovative ideas struggle to survive beyond their initial phase.
To counter this, there is a need to overhaul the current job-seeking mindset and focus on

and academic goals, and sessions like this serve as a powerful tool to inspire and guide
students toward their objectives. The session was initiated by Mr. J. Appala Naidu, HOD –
BS&H, with the aim of enriching students' learning experiences and helping them work
