The Lion, The Jackal and The Wolf

Rise - Ramu’s Institute Of Spoken English - DVDs & Books - Available - Ramu : ( 0 ) 9390495239
The lion, king of the jungle was unwell. He stayed in his cave
and did not go out for more than a week. Many faithful animals
visited the lion and made enquiries about his health. But the jackal
did not visit the lion for a long time. But he was secretly observing

what was happening in the cave. The wolf hated the jackal. The
wolf thought that he could easily get the jackal into trouble at this
time. He said to the lion, “My lord, the jackal does not visit you. He
is avoiding you.
I understand that he is hatching a plot against you”. The jackal
was overhearing this talk. Jhe lion was angry. He grumbled and
stamped his foot on the ground. In an angry tone the lion ordered
the wolf, “Bring the jackal at once”. The wolf went out. He searched
for the jackal and summoned him to the presence of the lion.
The lion asked, “Why did you not come here for a number of
days. What kept you away?” The jackal meekly said, “Forgive me,

and I am powerless to stop it what kind of life is this that I have to put
to with this hell of an unbearable noise?
At that time the big elephant came there. He was waving his
large ears constantly this way and that way. The lion asked the
elephant, “Oh big brother! what is your worry? Is there any animal or
creature that can stand before you? Any other creature or animal
would run away on seeing your huge body.
What is it that troubles you
The elephant made reply:
Do you notice the little buzzing wasp flying near my face and

ears to keep the wasp away. *
