A. JOB APPLICATION LETTER
A job application letter is a letter that you write to a company when you are applying for a job.
1. Social Function of Job Application Letters.
The social function of a job application letter is to make the employer interested and call the
writer for an interview.
2. Structure of Job Application Letters.
From the format above, we can conclude that the structure of the text contains of appliying job
explicity, information source of the vacancy, detailed information about the applicant’s
competences as the qualification asked, and availability of having interview.
3. Language Feature of Job Application Letters.
When we write a job application letter, we usually use simple present tense. However,
sometimes we use simple past tense when we are talking about education and last experience.
We also can use present perfect tense to write about unfinished action that started in the past
and continue to the present.
There are some tips to write a job application letter:

☞ Be enthausiastic, but do not beg.
☞ Use simple and natural language.
☞ Use positive words and phrases.
☞ Make you letter short and to the point, but intersting to read.
