REFLECTION

I-INTRODUCTION:
- In the past, when facing problems in life, I often solved them randomly
based on my instincts, without any specific method. These decisions were
usually made hastily and lacked thorough consideration. However, after
attending several sessions of the Design Thinking course, I had the
opportunity to access new and extremely useful knowledge. I learned how
to solve problems through a clear and systematic process. From
understanding users, identifying problems to brainstorming and testing
solutions, Design thinking has helped me realize that every issue needs to
be viewed from multiple angles and solved with creativity, flexibility and
continuous experimentation.
- Furthermore, this course not only helped me solve problems more
effectively but also stimulated my creative thinking. Through group work,
brainstorming ideas, and testing solutions, Design Thinking helped me
come up with innovative and unique ideas that I might not have considered
before. I believe that the valuable knowledge I gained from this course will
help me tackle problems in my studies and work creatively, giving me the
confidence to face any challenges in life and continue developing myself in
the future.
II-I LEARNED
1.Empathy
- In the 5-step Design Thinking process, the “Empathize” step made me
realize that understanding users is incredibly important and not as easy as it
may seem. Empathy isn’t just about asking users simple questions, but it is
a process of observing their behavior, listening to their stories, and “putting
myself in their shoes”. Only by doing this can we deeply listen to their
emotions and thoughts.
- Design Thinking has given me a deeper understanding of empathy. It is
not just about hearing what users say but about putting myself in their
shoes to feel and understand what they are going through. Empathy helps
me immerse myself in the world of users, allowing me to develop truly
solutions. This is an important skill that I will continue to develop in my
career.
2.Analytical and Evaluation Skills
- Design Thinking has taught me how to approach information
systematically and logically when solving problems, especially the ability
to analyze and evaluate. In the past, when solving problems, I often relied
on intuition and didn’t assess the factors involved thoroughly. However,
through the Design Thinking process, I have come to realize that deeply
analyzing the problem and evaluating potential solutions objectively is
important. This skill will help me choose the optimal solution. It is a skill I
must continue to develop in the future.
3.Teamwork
- The Design Thinking course places a great emphasis on teamwork. This is
one of the most important factors for achieving good results in problem-
solving. In group projects, Design Thinking strongly encourages
collaboration and input from all members to create innovative, fresh, and
practical solutions. During group discussions, each person must listen to
and respect the viewpoints of others, Even if those ideas seem unusual at
first. This process expands each person’s perspective and discover new
solutions. Through this, I have learned how to listen, share ideas, and
contribute effectively to group work.
4.Creative Problem-Solving
- Design Thinking encourages unlimited creativity in coming up with
solutions to problems. I have learned to adopt a flexible and creative
mindset. Sometimes the best solution comes from exploring new,
unconventional ideas, even if they may not be what others expect.
However, if we don’t try, if we don’t step out of our comfort zones, we will
be limited to conventional solutions
5.Prototying and Iteration
- Another skill I have learned from Design Thinking is prototyping and
testing solutions. Instead of trying to provide a perfect solution from the
beginning, Design Thinking has taught me to create simple prototypes, then
test and iterate continuously based on user feedback. We must change,
adjust, and improve continuously to perfect solution. This process not only
helps me improve products but also teaches me how to accept, fix mistakes,
and make improvements.
6.Human-Centered Design
- One of the important lessons i learned from Design Thinking is Human-
Centered Design. In all the sessions, i realize that every design solution
must start by understanding the needs, problems, and emotions of users.
This approach not only helps create products and services that are useful
but also leads to sustainable solutions that are suitable for a wide range of
users. Design is not just about making things look good, but about focusing
on users and their real needs to make sure the solutions truly help them.
III-I LIKE
- Through the Design Thinking sessions, I have had interesting experiences
and gained deep, meaningful lessons. From the very first class, the lecturer
created a lively and energetic atmosphere that helped students connect with
each other. She always created a comfortable learning space and
encouraged active participation from students. This made me feel more
confident when sharing ideas and participating in group discussions.
Moreover, after each class, the lecturer would organize fun activities and
games to relieve stress and help students refresh their minds. These
activities not only made the class more enjoyable but also helped us bond
with our classmate, allowing us to work better together.
- Additionally, the course gave me a new perspective on design. I realize
that design is not just about creating beautiful products but also about
meeting users’ needs. The Design Thinking process taught me how to listen
to and understand users, and from there, create more creative and practical
solutions. Each sessions was an opportunity for me to practice teamwork,
creativity, and develop my thinking.
IV-I WISH
- Design Thinking is a very interesting and diverse subject, and I have
learned many valuable insights from it. However, I still wish to improve in
some aspects of the learning process. I hope to apply the knowledge and
user research techniques in real-world project. Although I understand that
listening to and understanding users’ needs is extremely important, I feel I
need more practical experience to truly understand the challenges users
face in complex situations.
- Additionally, I would like to improve my teamwork skills further in
projects. Although, I had positive experiences working in teams, I realize
that in real-life environments, there are often conflicting ideas, and it can
be difficult for team members to find common ground. I hope to learn how
to listen to others’ opinions better and build practical, sustainable solutions.
By enhancing these skills, i wish my team will be able to work smoothly
and achieve the best possible outcome for the final project.
- Finally, I hope to continue developing my creative thinking not only in
academic projects but also in future work. I believe applying Design
Thinking will help me tackle future challenges with creative solutions and
the ability to adapt flexibly to any situation.
V-CONCLUSION:
- The Design Thinking course has helped me learn how to solve problems
systematically, creatively, and flexibly through the 5 steps of the Design
Thinking process.Additionally, this course has greatly enhanced my
teamwork skills, teaching me how to collaborate effectively with others to
create innovative solutions. The Knowledge gained from this course is not
only useful for my studies but also for my future life.
- Finally, i would like to sincerely thank Ms.Thanh for creating a dynamic,
creative, and enjoyable learning environment for us. Her support and
guidance have helped me gain valuable knowledge and develop the
necessary skills for this course.
