FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN TEACHERS

BIBLE STUDY OUT LINE, 2025
THEME “I WILL FORGIVE THEIR INIQUITY”
Jere 31:34c, Heb 10 :17

INTRODUCTION
God created us in his image after his likeness Gen 1:26-28. We are fearfully
and wonderfully made carrying the nature and character of God Ps. 100:3, 139: 14.
He created us to possess his kinds of life that is eternal and bear his attributes such as
his goodness. God is good, his faithfulness God is faithful, his love -God is love and
loving kindness, He is merciful, holy and compassionate. He is just and loves justice,
God is righteous, He is Spirit, trustworthy, reliable and dependable. 1 Jn. 1:18, 4:24a,
Exo. 34:6, 1Jn. 1:5b, 4:8, 16b, Nahum 1: 7a, Heb. 11:11c, 6:10a, 1 Pet. 2:23, Ps.
103:8a, 100:50, 73:1a.

The first man God created him in His image and likeness and he possess God’s
power, no wonder Adam can name all the animals correctly through the power of
God deposited in him. Gen 2:19-23.

DISCUSSION

But how comes God is saying “I will forgive their iniquity” Jer. 31:34c, Heb
10:17, one may say I am not a sinner, I don’t tell lies, fight, steal, chea,t am not a
smoker or a drunkard not a womanizer, am a Christian I use to go to the church and
worship. Study the following scriptures: all have sinned. Rom 3:23, 3:10, 5:12, 14,
Ps. 51:5 if we say we have no sin, we deceive our self. 1Jn. 1:8,10, Pro. 20:9, Eccl.
7:20, 1Kgs. 8:46a, Ps. 14:3, 2 Chro. 6:36a

The above scriptures tell us categorically that we are all sinners and that we
need God’s mercy and forgiveness. The scripture says his eyes are pure to behold
iniquity.
We become sinners by nature and by inheritance, when the first man Adam
disobey God in the garden where God placed him to live. Gen 3:1-3, God’s likeness,
nature and attributes departed from him and so was the fall of man, indeed man has
fall short of God’s glory and so, he died Vs 3, the scripture says through Adam’s
disobedience death reigned on all. Rom. 5:12, 6:23, 1 Cor 15: 21a, 22a.

The devil planted his “seed” in the life of a man, his nature and attributes Gen
5:3, Adam begat a son in his likeness and image no longer in God’s image and
likeness. His children are like him carrying his “Adamic nature”, so, we have
inherited the devil’s nature and attributes from Adam which is the sinful nature.

The devil’s nature and attributes:

He is a deceiver, prince of this world, a Liar, a murderer, a sinner, a thief, a

tempter, enemy of God and his children, a accuser of the brethren who use to blind
the mind of unbelievers, he weakens the nations. Gen 3:1, 3:4, Jn 8:44, Lk 10:18,
Matt 4:1, 1 Jn 3:8a, 2 Cor 4:4, Jn 12:31, 10:10a, Isaiah 14:12, Rev. 11:9, 20:7-8,
12:10c.

This nature is contrary to God’s nature and it can not please God at all, the
nature is weak and corrupt. Rom 8:3a, 5-8, Eph 4:22, Gal 6:8a and will make one to
love the world and become God’s enemy. James 4:4.

This nature can cause separation between God and man. Isaiah 59:1-2, Ps 38:5,
and one will possess devils’ characters. Gal 5:19-21, 1 Cor 6:18, Rom 13:13 the
nature will not allow you to be faithful and serve God genuinely, its urges you to do
what pleases him, Rom 7:14-24, 1 Pet 2:11, James 4:1, Eph 4:29a, Col 3:8, Rom
1:18-32, Eph 4:31.

This “sinful nature” was illustrated by the Bible as marriage between us and
the nature. Rom 7:1-3,5, 1 Cor 8:39, since it is a marriage between us with this
nature, it is only death can separate us it means one can only be free from this nature
by DEATH, this nature must die in us so as to be free to marry another even Christ 1
Cor 8:39 “only in the Lord”.
