From The River To The Sea, Will We Ever Be Free?
From the river to the sea, When will I… be free? When will the bird who got caged, like me…
taste the sovereignty?
Why I must suffer such pain, when all I did was to keep on living? Why I must run away and
leave my homeland from those evil beings?
Is it wrong to take what’s rightfully ours? Is it wrong that we stayed firm and defended what was
right for every hour?
Why does defending our homeland seem to be prohibited? Do you have the right to punish us
with death? Thousands were injured, millions were displaced, and who knows how many are still
under the rubble?
Don’t you hear that? A girl asking why her father had to die, a boy crying because his little
brother was beheaded. Aren’t you guilty? Don’t you have a conscience? Slaughtering and
massacring the innocent?
How is it that you get to choose, who will live and who will die? Did God say that you could
decide? Did God say that you could decide?! Who will live and who will die?
You! You! All of you! Don’t you dare close your eyes or your ears! Don’t ignore us! Please!
Please don’t ignore us asking for help and a hope of light! Please don’t ignore us fighting for
what’s right! I begged you, please…
We have been oppressed, imprisoned, and destroyed. Everything! But, you’ll never be successful
in bombing our spirits to dust! You, the aggressors! Will not succeed and We, victims will raise
our Flag freely.
