3. Storage SectioTable: /SCWM/T302

In EWM a storage section is an organizational subdivision of a storage

type, which groups together storage bins with similar attributes for the
purpose of put-away.

For example
o Heavy Parts temperature
o Bulky Parts load bearing capacity
o Fast Moving Items
o Slow Moving Item

Storage section use as an organizational unit for putting away goods in warehouse.
You need to define the organizational aims if using storage types and storage sections.
The use of storage sections becomes mandatory you use storage section control on storage section search in the storage type

In this picture we can see the Rack in that we are divided in fast moving and slow-moving
parts it’s called a storage section and we can differentiate the storage section by type of
product, shapes and size ex level1 Pallets are kept heavy weight product and in level 2
medium parts weight are kept and Low weight parts are kept in level 3
On new entries screen of storage sections, update the following details
• WhN: Enter the warehouse number {Embedded EWM Warehouse}
• Ty. Enter the storage type
• Sec: Enter the 4-character alphanumerical value for a new storage section for the
storage type.
• Description: Enter the description of storage section.
After maintain the required details, choose save option and save the details of storage sections
in SAP S/4Hana system.

Storage Section in SAP – Scenarios

· Storage type in embedded EWM can be divided into separate sections
· Storage section is assigned to a warehouse number and a storage type.
4. Storage Bin

The storage bin is the smallest spatial unit in a warehouse. Therefore, the storage bin
represents the exact position in the warehouse where products are and/or can be stored.

Storage bins in EWM can be created in three ways.

Storage Bin is associated with Storage Bin Type and Storage A

1. Storage Bin Type

Storage bin types are used to group the storage bins based on their physical
attributes such as weight, volume, length, et.. Storage bin types can be divided into
large bins, small bins, etc.

2. Storage Bin Access Type

The bin access types control the stock in a bin that can be accessed resource values as per
resource type. After defining the resource types in Embedded EWM warehouse, the bin
access type must be assigned to a resource type.
The bin access type tells how the product as been carried as shown in below pic

Example 1: For pallet the resource is used as fork lift as Access type

Example 2:for Cotton box the resource type is used as worker as Access type

How to define Bin Access Types in SAP S/4Hana EWM

How to create storage Bins in EWM

In EWM, storage bins can be created by 3 methods, i.e.
