5:1 These are the generations of Adam: In the day that God created man, he created him in the
image of God. 5:2 He created them male and female; God blessed them on the day they were
created and called them Man. 5:3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he became the father of a son
in his own image, in his likeness; and he named him Seth. 5:4 After Adam became the father of
Seth, he lived another 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5:5 All the days of Adam were
930 years old, and he died. 5:6 When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh. 5:7
After Seth became the father of Enosh, he lived 807 years, and he had sons and daughters. 5:8 All
the days of Seth were 912 years old, and he died. 5:9 When Enosh was 90 years old, he became
the father of Cainan. 5:10 After he became the father of Cainan, Enosh lived 815 years. He had
sons and daughters. 5:11 All the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years; he died. 5:12
When Cainan was seventy years old, he became the father of Mahalaleel. 5:13 After Cainan
became the father of Mahalaleel, he lived eight hundred and forty years and had sons and
daughters. 5:14 All the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; he died. 5:15 When
Mahalaleel was sixty-five years old, he became the father of Jared. 5:16 After Mahalalel became
the father of Jared, he lived eight hundred and thirty years and had sons and daughters. 5:17 All
the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; then he died. 5:18 When Jared
was one hundred and sixty-two years old, he became the father of Enoch. 5:19 After Jared became
the father of Enoch, he lived eight hundred years and had sons and daughters. 5:20 All the days of
Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; then he died. 5:21 When Enoch had lived sixty-five
years, he became the father of Methuselah.
5:22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years
and had sons and daughters.
5:23 All the years of Enoch's life were three hundred and sixty-five years.
5:24 Enoch walked with God, and God took him away; he was no more.
5:25 When Methuselah had lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, he became the father of
Lamech. 5:26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived another 782 years and had
sons and daughters. 5:27 All the days of Methuselah were 969 years old; then he died. 5:28 When
Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son. 5:29 He named him Noah, saying, "This
son will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands because of the ground that the Lord
has cursed." 5:30 After Lamech became the father of Noah, he lived five hundred and ninety-five
years and had other sons and daughters. 5:31 All the days of Lamech were seven hundred and
seventy-seven years; then he died. 5:32 When Noah was five hundred years old, he became the
father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
