AIR CONDITIONING – CONDENSER

CONDENSER
ON–VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. CHECK CONDENSER FINS FOR BLOCKAGE OR
DAMAGE
If the fins are clogged, wash them with water and dry
with compressed air.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the fins.
If the fins are bent, straighten them with a screwdriv-
er or pliers.
2. CHECK CONDENSER AND FITTINGS FOR LEAK–
AGE
Repair as necessary.

CONDENSER REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERA–
TION SYSTEM
2. REMOVE CLEARANCE LIGHT AND FRONT GRILLE
3. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE FROM CONDENS–
ER INLET FITTING
4. DISCONNECT 2 LIQUID TUBE
NOTICE: Cap open the fittings Immediately to keep
moisture out of the system.
5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK BRACE
6. REMOVE CONDENSER FAN MOTOR
7. REMOVE CONDENSER
Remove the 4 bolts and the condenser.

CONDENSER INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CONDENSER
Install the 4 bolts making sure the rubber cushions fit
on the mounting flanges correctly.
2. INSTALL CONDENSER FAN MOTOR
3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK BRACE

4. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE TO RECEIVER AND DIS–


CHARGE HOSE TO CONDENSER
Torque:
Liquid tube x receiver:
6.0 N–m (60 kgf–cm, 52 in.–lbf)
Liquid tube x condenser:
10 N–m (100 kgf–cm, 7 ft in.–lbf)
Discharge hose:
10 N–m (100 kgf–cm, 7 ft–lbf)
5. IF CONDENSER WAS REPLACED, ADD COMPRES–
SOR OIL TO COMPRESSOR
Add 40 – 50 cc (1.4 –1.7 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil:
ND–OIL 8 or equivalent
6. INSTALL FRONT GRILLE AND CLEARANCE LIGHT
7. EVACUATE AIR FROM AIR CONDITIONING
SYSTEM
8. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH RE–
FRIGERANT AND CHECK FOR GAS LEAKAGE
Specified amount:
750 ± 50 g (24.69 ± 1.76 oz.)
