Why does writing diary matter..........?

Extracts from the diary of Anne Frank (1942-44)

June 12, 1942
I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to
confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.
Comment added by Anne on September 28, 1942:
So far you truly have been a great source of comfort to me, and so has
Kitty, whom I now write to regularly. This way of keeping a diary is
much nicer, and now I can hardly wait for those moments when I'm able
to write in you.
Oh, I'm so glad I brought you along!
N ovember 19th 1942 : “Mr Dussel has told us much about the outside world we’ve missed
for so long. He had sad news. Countless friends and acquaintances have been taken off
to a dreadful fate. Night after night, green and grey military vehicles cruise the
streets. They knock on every door, asking whether any Jews live there. If so, the whole
family is immediately taken away. If not, they proceed to the next house. It’s impossible
to escape their clutches unless you go into hiding. They often go around with lists,
knocking only on those doors where they know there’s a big haul to be made. They
frequently offer a bounty, so much per head. It’s like the slave hunts of the olden days…
I feel wicked sleeping in a warm bed, while somewhere out there my dearest friends are
dropping from exhaustion or being knocked to the ground. I get frightened myself when
I think of close friends who are now at the mercy of the cruellest monsters ever to
stalk the earth. And all because they’re Jews.”

My Bad Day at Work

A. Reading
I had a bad day at work today. I was late because I missed the bus. I missed an
important meeting, and my boss was mad. I also forgot to bring an important report
because I brought the wrong briefcase. On my way to my boss’s office, I got a coffee.
Then I spilled the coffee on my shirt by mistake. In his office, I tripped on a phone
cord and fell. He was very angry about the report. Later, I told my coworkers that the
boss was in a bad mood. I did an impression of the boss and made fun of him. When I
turned around, the boss was behind me. He heard everything. He called me into his
office, and he fired me. On my way home, I went to my favorite deli for a salami
sandwich. But they had no more salami! It was the worst day of my life.

I went to the park with my mom and our dog today. We went down the slide. My mom
pushed me on the swing. We also found a small pond. The dog and I splashed around
in the pond. Then we played tag. My mom brought a picnic lunch. We sat on the grass
and ate sandwiches. The dog chased squirrels. Afterward, my mom bought me an ice-
cream cone! Then I saw my friends Alex and Jenny. We all played frisbee together.
Then I felt tired, so we went home.

🎤 Presentation Script: Three Fascinating Animals (Group Presentation)
[Speaker 1 – Introduction & Animal 1: Octopus]
Good morning, everyone.
Before we begin, let me introduce myself. My name is [Speaker 1's Name], and I am one of the students
from Group 3 ISE.
Today, we are going to give a presentation about three fascinating animals.
The presentation is divided into three parts. I’ll start with the octopus, then [Speaker 2's Name] will talk
about the giraffe, and finally [Speaker 3's Name] will tell you about the axolotl.
Let’s begin.
First, I’d like to talk about the octopus.
The octopus is a sea animal with eight arms. It is very smart and can solve problems.
It can change its color to hide from predators.
Some octopuses can even escape through very small spaces.
Octopuses are one of the most intelligent animals in the ocean.
Now, I’ll hand it over to [Speaker 2's Name] to talk about the giraffe.
[Speaker 2 – Animal 2: Giraffe]
Thanks, [Speaker 1's Name].
Hello again, my name is [Speaker 2's Name], and I’ll talk about the second animal which is the giraffe.
The giraffe is the tallest land animal in the world. It has a long neck that helps it reach leaves on tall trees.
Giraffes only sleep for a short time—sometimes just 30 minutes a day!
They also have a strong heart to pump blood all the way to their head.
To continue, here’s [Speaker 3's Name] with more details on the axolotl.
[Speaker 3 – Animal 3: Axolotl & Conclusion]
Thanks, [Speaker 2's Name].
Hello everyone, I’m [Speaker 3's Name], and I’ll talk about the last animal, axolotl.
The axolotl is a type of salamander that lives in water all its life.
It can grow back body parts like legs, tail, and even parts of the heart or brain.
It always keeps its baby look, even when it grows up. This makes it very unique and interesting.
In conclusion, today we talked about three fascinating animals:
the smart octopus, the tall giraffe, and the amazing axolotl.
Each animal is special in its own way.
Thank you all for listening to our presentation.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask now.
