lesson or presenting the  If there was a preceding lesson on food science or basic culinary skills, quickly touch
new lesson upon relevant concepts like flavor profiles or ingredient interactions.
 Today, we're going to build on that knowledge by learning how to create our own
delicious cocktails and mocktails!
B. Establishing a purpose Activity 1: Ingredient Exploration
for the lesson Directions:
1. Divide students into small groups.
2. Provide each group with a selection of ingredients.
3. Ask each group to:
 Identify the different types of ingredients (e.g., spirits, liqueurs, mixers, fruits).
 Describe the flavor profiles of each ingredient (e.g., sweet, tart, spicy, herbal).
 Discuss how the flavors of different ingredients might complement each other.
4. Encourage students to smell and taste the ingredients (if appropriate) to get a better
understanding of their flavor profiles.
5. Have each group share their findings with the class.
C. Presenting examples/ What can you say about the activity 1?
instances of the new Can you describe and tell something about them?
lesson  Students get to smell and taste (if appropriate) the ingredients, which helps them
develop a deeper understanding of their flavor profiles. This is a much more
memorable experience than simply reading about ingredients in a textbook.
 Working in groups encourages students to share their knowledge and learn from each
other. It also promotes discussion and critical thinking as they try to identify the
different types of ingredients and their flavor characteristics.
 By using actual ingredients, the activity connects the lesson to real-world applications.
Students can see how the ingredients they're exploring are used in drinks they might
already be familiar with.
D. Discussing new Discussion proper with PowerPoint presentation:

 For example, simple syrup adds sweetness to a margarita, while cranberry juice
contributes both sweetness and a tartness to a cosmopolitan.

and explain your reasoning. Discuss how the flavors of each ingredient will interact
with each other and how they will contribute to the overall taste and texture of the
drink.
