Brief Introduction
JT701D is a mobile asset monitoring and management product based on JT701 electronic smart lock. The

product currently supports 2G/4G communication mode with a built-in battery of 15000mAH. JT701D have been

optimized and improved in low power consumption, peripheral expansion, and functional design. The working

modes are diversified. According to the demand of power consumption, deep sleep mode and tracking mode are

added to the existing dormant mode. The default 50 RFID authorization cards will be expanded to 500 RFID

4 / 38
authorization cards. In terms of security, a control unlocking channel has been added. For example, user can

specify whether they can unlock via SMS, RFID authorization card, serial port, Bluetooth, cellular network and

other channels. In terms of peripheral expansion, JT701D can support 10 JT126 wireless temperature and

humidity sensors to work at the same time, or 10 JT709 Bluetooth sub-locks to work at the same time. It has a

key-free design, RFID/remote unlocking; large-capacity battery, long working hours; built-in wireless module,

real-time online monitoring; built-in GPS module, global positioning tracking; security monitoring, illegal unlocking

alarm and other functions. It is suitable for remote monitoring of containers, flatbed trucks, box-type trucks, etc.

① External charging port : DC 5V 2a is the standard charging voltage. Please connect the
charging adapter and its matching charging cable provided by Jointech. It is
recommended to use a stable and reliable indoor charging power supply to
charge the device. And it usually takes about 8 hours to charge from 5% low
battery to 100% full battery.
②Device ID : The device ID is a 10-digit number, for example: 8040313607. This device ID is
included in the location data uploaded by the device, and this ID is used as the
unique identification of the device in the platform.
Device model : At present, JT701D is divided into 2G and 4G device models according to
different cellular network communication modules.
③Buzzer Sound Hole.

First Use

Power On and Off / Charge and Full

Power on and off : Unscrew the screws of the back cover with a special hexagonal screwdriver, and then refer
to the power switch in the " Interior view of Back cover" in this article, flip the power switch to
turn on or off.
Charge and full : After power on, if the LVS-yellow light flashes, it means that the current battery level is less
than30%, and charging is recommended.
Charging method 1-Charge the device through the standard charging adapter and supporting
charging cable and wait for the charging indicator CHG to change from red to green; In
general, it takes about 8 hours for the equipment to run out of power to be fully charged.

Charging adapter and supporting line

Charging method 2-Connect the USB port of the computer to charge through the Micro-USB

13 / 38
configuration line, and wait for the charging indicator to change from red to green; This
interface limits the charging current to 500 mA which can only be used as a backup
method and is not recommended as a daily charging method.

Micro-USB configuration/charging cable

Warning:
Do not directly plug the special double-post plug of the charging cable that comes with the adapter into
the power socket, otherwise it is easy to cause indoor circuit short circuit or electric shock!
Do not use unstable or unreliable power sources such as vehicle batteries to charge the JT701D device!

Install the Micro-SIM Card

Please confirm the cellular communication module used by the current device with Jointech’s sales staff. If
the current device uses a 2G communication module, please communicate with the local mobile operator and
confirm that the SIM card has activated the GPRS Internet access function and connect to the Internet. Place
the Micro-SIM card that has activated the GPRS network access function into the SIM card slot and lock it.

Micro-SIM Card - Length * width (15*12mm)

Pay Attention:
Before inserting the SIM card, please turn off the device to avoid damage to the SIM card;
If use a single SIM card, it is recommended to insert the SIM1 card slot.
As shown below, the process of inserting the SIM card into the SIM1 card slot and fixing it:
① ② ③ ④

①Press the upper end of the metal cover with your fingers (or the place where your thumb nail is
embedded in the red frame) and push the metal cover down.
②Open the metal cover.
③ Place the SIM card in the SIM1 card slot, press the metal cover, and push the metal cover
14 / 38
upwards until the SIM card is locked.
④SIM card is finished installation.

Instruction of double sim card working logic

For users who use single sim card, just skip this instruction.
Recent JT701D support dual sim card one standy. It means when one sim card is connected with nextwork,
the other sim card won’t work.
Note: Please following the instruction of <Main IP/ Domain name, port, APN, APN account configuration> in
this article for the initial setting.
The device will detect whether the SIM card is inserted into the SIM card slot, and the following figure
indicates whether the current SIM card and its APN and APN account parameters can be connected to the
backend server host IP (domain name) and port.

Note:
The currently configured host IP (domain name) and port do not have a one-to-one correspondence with
the SIM card slot. The same SIM card may work in the configured (IP1, port 1) or (IP2, port 2). Allow
users to set IP1 and IP2 or port to the same parameter.
The configured APN1 and APN2 information corresponds to the SIM card slot one by one. For example,
the APN and APN accounts of SIM1 connected to the GPRS/4G network must correspond to the APN1
and APN1 accounts.
