Erhu
The Erhu (or Chinese violin) is a kind of two-stringed bowed
musical instrument. Its history can be dated back to Tang
Dynasty over 1,000 years ago. Erhu can be used as a solo
performance as well as in small musical groups and large
orchestras. It is one of the most popular bowed string
instruments used by many ethnic groups in China.
Biwa
The biwa (lute) arrived approximately 1300 years ago. In
the 9th century the Môső (blind monks’) biwa Began to be
used by blind musicians as an accompaniment to chanted
religious texts and Sutras. At the beginning of the 13 th
century, Heike biwa players began telling of tales of the rise
and fall of the Taira clan in 12th C Japan.
Shakuhachi
The shakuhachi is Japan’s vertical bamboo flute with five
finger holes, four in front and one at the back. I am an
ancient instrument and yet, due to its versatility, it has a
uniquely contemporary Appeal.
Koto
One of the more recognizable instruments of Japan, the
Koto consists of a 6-foot-long shallow resonating box (made
from Paulownia wood) with a set of thirteen strings
stretched over movable ivory bridges. This arrangement
Creates a harp-like instrument which is traditionally played
at floor level by a Kneeling musician. The player has some
(plectra) attached to three fingers and strums and plucks
the strings.

Piri
Used in both the Folk and classical (court) music of Korea. It
is made of Bamboo with large reed and cylindrical bore Give
it a sound Mellower than that of many other types of oboes.
Haegeum (two-string vertical fiddle)
Has a rod-like Neck, a hallow Sound box, two Silk strings,
and is held vertically on the knee of the performer and
played with a Bow.
Kayagum (gayageum)
A traditional Korean Zither like string Instrument, with 12
Strings although more Recently variants have Been
constructed with 21 or more numbers of Strings. It is the
best-known Traditional Korean Musical instrument.
Geomungo
A six-string Plucked zither is a Traditional Korean Stringed
Musical Instrument of the Zither family of Instruments with
both bridges and Frets.
Chango
Most widely used drum in the traditional music of Korea. It
is available in most kinds and consists of an hourglass-
shaped body with two heads made from animal skin. The
two heads produce sounds of different pitch and timbre,
which when played together are believed to represent the
harmony of man and woman.

Guzheng
The guzheng, often referred to simply as "zheng", is a 21-
stringed zither and one of the best known and most popular
Chinese instruments. It produces soft and soothing tones
and is played by plucking the strings with the fingers, often
with the help of picks. Its tones are often reminiscent of
running water.
Sheng
The sheng is a mouth organ instrument with a long history
in Chinese music. It consists of a series of bamboo tubes
fitted with a metal reed and powered by a wind chamber.
The tones that the sheng can produce range from bright
and shrill to deep and voluminous - perfect for ensembles
as well.

Piri
It is made of Bamboo with large reed and cylindrical bore.

Kkwaenggwari
A handheld gong used in traditional Korean music, known
for its sharp, high-pitched sound. It is a folk musical
instrument of South Korea that has a flat gong and a hard
stick and is made using brass that has a diameter of
approximately 19 to 22 cm (7½ to 8½ in), and a rim of
approximately 3 to 4 cm (1½ in).
