My name is Ogwang Hallan, a second-year student of Mechanical Engineering at Makerere University.
As part of the basic course requirement, I am required to undergo a basic industrial training at the end
of this semester which ends on 11th June.
I personally chose Coca cola Beverages Africa because I have always appreciated the crucial role
played by the Coca cola Beverages Africa in the manufacturing of beverages in Uganda. I believe that
there is a lot that I will learn from this Factory in terms of the practical aspects related to my course,
and learning the operation of different machines available among others.
I am not only among the top performers but I am also pro-actively involved in multiple
extracurricular activities, such as Engineering society, sports club and attended various conferences
especially one in nano-technology. I have also acquired skills in programming using C++, CAD using solid
edge and solid works.
I am an open-minded person, who is always ready to learn, cooperate and work with people in all
disciplines and walks of life to develop relevant engineering solutions to world problems.
I am ready to give much of my time for this internship work given the opportunity and am also
ready to give all my efforts and knowledge to transform the production efficiency of the factory in all
sectors.

Work experience
• Contributed a lot in the design of a modified solar drier to help farmers in Lango sub region in
drying their harvested grains as a way of reducing the moisture contents in the grains.
• Assisted in the development of new processes and procedures to reduce the production costs and
increase overall production efficiency.
• Diagnosed engineering engineering systems to identify any failures and problems and maintained.
