1. Have you helped someone in need before? Tell me about it

Ans:

Yes, I have helped someone before. I think it is important to help others because it shows kindness and
makes people feel happy. When we help someone, it also makes our community a better place.

Last month, my elderly neighbour was carrying heavy bags of groceries from the market. She looked
very tired and struggled to open her door. I quickly ran over and asked if she needed help. She smiled
and said yes, so I carried some of her bags into her house for her. After that, we chatted for a bit, and
she thanked me warmly. Helping her made me feel really good because I could make her day easier. I
think it’s important to help people around us, especially those who may find some tasks difficult.

I felt very happy and proud because I was able to make her day easier. It also made me realise that small
acts of kindness can really make a difference.

I have helped a friend before. One day during recess, my friend fell and hurt his knee. He was in pain
and couldn’t walk properly. I quickly went to get a teacher and stayed with him until the teacher came. I
also helped him walk slowly to the school general office for first aid. He was very grateful for my help. It
made me feel good because I knew I was there when he needed me. Helping friends is important
because it shows that we care about them.

I would definitely help again because helping others is the right thing to do. It also makes me feel good
inside and builds good relationships with people around me.
Do you think it is important to care for the people around you? Why or why not?

Ans:

Yes, I definitely think it is important to care for the people around us.

Firstly, when we care for others, we build stronger and better relationships. For example, when a
classmate is feeling down or having a bad day, just asking, “Are you okay?” or sitting with them can
make a big difference. It shows them that we are kind and that they are not alone. This helps build trust
and friendship.

Secondly, caring for others makes our environment—like our school or home—a more positive place. If
we all take time to help one another, we can create a happy and supportive community. For instance, if
someone drops their books, instead of laughing, we can help them pick them up. These small actions
may seem simple, but they make the world more caring and peaceful.

I also believe that caring teaches us important values like empathy and responsibility. When we put
ourselves in someone else’s shoes, we learn to understand how they feel. This helps us become more
thoughtful and mature.

Let me share a personal example. Last month, my younger sister had a fever. My parents were busy with
work, so I helped by reading her a book, making her porridge, and sitting with her until she fell asleep.
Even though I had homework to do, I felt happy knowing I was helping someone I love. It also made my
parents proud and thankful.

In conclusion, I believe caring for others is very important because it builds friendships, makes our
surroundings better, teaches us good values, and brings happiness to both the giver and the receiver.
